This has been driving me nuts.. !! Has to be a semi recently released tv series (last 10 years) on a major streaming service (Hulu, Netflix, Max, Prime). I typically watch murder mysteries, dramas, limited tv series.
Show goes something like this..the female cop, sheriff, detective(??) is investigating something out of town. She has a daughter she talks to on the phone (or plays phone tag with?)
There’s this one unsettling scene where she’s in diner/restaurant and a blonde waitress says to her something to the effect of “oh I’m surprised to see you back after your daughter, correct name drowned”.. the cop is freaked out and replies that she must be mistaken because her daughter is fine.
She might have a partner her husband with her?? I can’t remember and CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE IN MY CONTINUE WATCHING! AHH!! Pls help 🫶🏼

I can’t recall a scene like that in the show but it’s been a long time since I watched it, but Phryne Fisher from Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries has an adopted daughter who shares her name with Phryne’s dead sister. Have you watched that?
