Then she sloowwwwllly started to look in the mirror, and I got so scared I turned it off. Any ideas what this could be? Would have been around ’95 when I was watching it.
EDIT: I’m starting to think I might never know the answer because I only saw this one scene and I don’t have time to watch all the suggestions… someone would have to instantly remember this scene.

This sounds so familiar. Are there any other little details you can remember?

M. Night Shyamalan – The Visit

Body Snatchers?
Could it be It, the people under the stairs or the haunting of Helen Walker? 🤔
The Good Son? Mother’s Boys? Not Without My Daughter?
Was it Poltergeist?
I know it’s later than you’re looking for, but the Kingsman has a scene like that.
Could it be the show Heroes? There was a blond character with an evil alter ego that talked to her through the mirror (I think?) and at one point she hid her son in the closet from bad guys/herself. My memories of the details are fuzzy but that’s what it made me think of
Taking a long shot here, but is it sixth sense?

.
“Ghostwatch” (1992, BBC TV Special)
• Why it might fit: Had chilling scenes involving children and unseen dangers. Aired once and scared many viewers.
• Downside: British and not widely aired in the U.S., but could have been seen by someone with access to BBC content.
“Storm of the Century” (1999, Stephen King miniseries)
• Why it might fit: A supernatural threat descends on a small town, and there are moments of parents trying to protect their children from a malevolent figure.
• Tone: Intense and emotionally heavy.
“It” (1990, Stephen King TV miniseries)
• Why it might fit: Children are told to fear and hide from an evil force (Pennywise). The vibe and timeframe align.
• However: It doesn’t have a specific scene with that line, but it has similar protective parenting scenes.
“When a Stranger Calls” (1979) / Remake (1993 TV version)
• Why it might fit: Deals with a babysitter protecting children from a home invader. The tone is aligned with the described fear.
Mirrors?
Village of the Damned?
I’m 90% sure it’s the visit 2015. I’m looking for a clip
Absolutely no clue but for some reason this inspired me to watch Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering
I remember this but not what it’s from. it’s really tickling my brain. I was a kid/teen in the 90s. this is going to bug me… I love horror so likely a horror movie. I watched so many back then. if it comes to me I’ll come back here. hmmm
Mmmm maybe Panic room? I’m pretty sure Jodie foster had darker hair but things can get misremembered with age maybe?
I was going to suggest one of The Howlings, but this sounds very familiar to me, and I’ve never seen any of those movies.
The “not even me” part is interesting because why not? Which made me think what the mom is saying is that the person at the door might look like her but isn’t. So that makes me think sci-fi or supernatural of some kind.
