I tried a couple months ago but no one really had any suggestions.
I think it was a cold open to the very beginning of the movie, show, or video. I think the plot was about some kind of mass hysteria? Or possibly some kind of possession making other people kill each other? I don’t remember much about the movie as a whole, but this scene stuck with me and I can’t find anything from googling it.
A reporter is on site in a busy city square, he’s smiling, talking about some event that’s coming up or something positive and a woman from the crowd starts making a direct route towards the reporter. It’s very clear she’s heading towards the cameras but the reporter and cameraman either don’t notice or don’t react until the very last moment. The second they realize she pulls a gun and shoots him in the head and then shoots herself. The scene sits on that for a while before going back to the studio where the anchors just sit in shock.
I would have watched this around 2015-2016 because I watched it with a specific group of friends on Rabb.it. I don’t remember what service we watched it on. The film probably would have been older. It was definitely live action and it MIGHT have been raining or just cold? I think he was wearing one of those winter jackets. Based on how I remember he was dressed and what he was reporting being positive, it might have taken place in NYC during Christmas or New Years? I also don’t think anyone in the background of the city square reacts but I could be wrong about that. They might have just not screamed.
