im not sure if this is the right place for this but ive been trying to figure out this book for years with little luck. it was a choose your adventure style book with every few pages having a thing where its like “to do A go to page Such and such or to do B go to THis page. “
I got this book in the early 2000’s probably sometime between 05-08 but as i got it at the salvation army it could have been very old.
it started out with this group of heroes and i remember one of them had a tragic back story of having used to be …a slave? a prisoner? something like that. i remember most of the options in the book led to a gruesome death and i never could find my way to the ending. One of the plot lines lead them to a series of caves and you could hear the sound of …a tiger? and if you chose wrong you got mauled. if you chose another option you ended up captured by this bad guy and you had to choose a slow death or a fast death. i remember always choosing the slow death thinking it would buy me time to be rescued but no. you die. gruesomely . and if you choose a fast death your comrade would save you just in time.
at some point this book just. straight up VANISHED from my house. idk where i lost it but it lives royalty free in my head and i would rather like to find it again.

i dont even know if it was under the umbrella of the ‘choose your own adventure’ book titles. i haven’t read any others. are they usually dark like this book i remember? if so it could very likely be from that series. but apparently there are quite a few of them so idk which it could have been.
