My mom just passed away and had no will. Her house is in her name but it also says it’s in trust according to the last deed with the county clerk. The house was left to her when my grandmother died in 2019. We’ve contacted the lawyer that handled my grandmothers trust but she has not been able to locate the documents as she’s not practicing anymore. If we are unable to locate the trust, what will happen? We see a probate lawyer Tuesday. There are very little debts. 2 properties and two cars, paid off and the only heirs are me and my sister.
