TL;DR We have been together for 1.5 yrs. I am (30M) and My gf (30F) found out she had a tear in her spinal disc AND lost her job shortly after we met. Because of that, I moved in with her roughly 3-4 months after we met. This was supposed to be temporary. Unfortunately, it’s been 1.5 years and she still has the same back injury and no job. Shes now living with me in my new tiny apartment until she finds a job, but I’m unsure if she will.
I guess my question is, has anyone had to speed up the progression of their relationship even if they didn’t want to due to circumstances like this? For me, shes helpless, but I am starting to feel smothered and I just wasn’t ready to live with a partner so early and live like we are married at that. It’s becoming too much and I think it will ruin us. But i wanted to know if this was normal, if I am overreacting, and what to do in this situation if so.
