Unsweetened iced tea is 100x better than sweet tea

r/

I’m gonna offend all of the southerners with this post, but I don’t understand how you guys enjoy sweet tea. It’s so sweet to the point that it’s disgusting. It’s not refreshing, it’s not enjoyable, it’s gross. I’ve seen some people dump entire bags of sugar in tea and I don’t get it, it’s horrible. However, unsweetened iced tea is great in my opinion, it has a very crisp taste to it, and it’s very satisfying to drink, it’s tastes clean, and it’s way more refreshing in my opinion.

Why are the options “entire bags of tea” or completely unsweetened?

That’s like saying the only options for coffee are black or caramel frappuccino.

As with all things, moderation is important.

I used to drink tea with lots of sugar until I was 38, then one day I just decided to stop adding sugar to my drink.

After about a week of adjustment, I realized that tea and coffee have complex taste now. It’s not just sweet whatever. I prefer no sugar ever since (also helped me to control my weight, which was the initial reason).

I’m about as southern as they come. Don’t like sugar in my coffee or tea (only like iced tea).
