Hi all,
I recently got promoted at my department and am now apart of a roaming patrol team. Basically we have more leeway in regards to dress policy and don’t chase calls. We are expected to backup patrol on hot calls, can help SWAT, Major Crimes, and UCs.
With that said, it was difficult and selective to get on, and I beat out quite a few others for one of 4 new spots. While we get cool new gear, it’s much more…dignified. Our LT has made it very clear that we need to stay fit, keep up marksmanship, look very sharp, will have monthly inspections, etc.
I have gotten a more expensive hair cut, bought a nail kit 💅, shaver, and bought contacts. I’m struggling when it comes to the basics like socks, boots, underwear, undershirt, and possibly shirt stays.
My t-shirts in the past had a loose collar, and came out of my pants all the time. My socks after a 15k step shift were damp and my boots weren’t the best to run in.
Looking for better socks, underwear, t-shirts that won’t fade, wrinkle, or smell after a busy shift as well as a good brand of shirt stays and shoes to be mobile.
