I’m already know I’m about to get pelted with “skill issue” comments from mfs with a vitamin D deficiency, but I don’t care. That’s what this subreddit is for.
If you are playing a game where you are in competition with other people, and you employ a strategy that is so much the not intended way to play to the point that there are literal obstacles placed to demotivate you from doing it, you’re genuinely not as good as you think you are. Okay, you bag in Mario Kart? Now try to frontrun against me. You stall in Pokémon? Alright, ditch the Blissey and let’s go again. I tend to win that second round when people actually go for it…
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet actively took Toxic from like, 95% of the Pokédex, and heavily nerfed healing moves, and MKW took SEVERAL preventative measures against bagging, and yet people who haven’t touched grass since 2014 are already finding methods to get around these blocks that they very clearly implemented most likely because they DIDN’T WANT YOU TO PLAY THIS WAY.
And then these troglodytes have the absolute gall to tell people to “git gud.” How about you git a job, god damn. 💀

It’s an online gane. You take it way too seriously.
I haven’t played an online game since like A Realm Reborn. Idk how kids these days do it
I find it amusing that your multi-paragraph rant on the ethics of gameplay tactics in online competitive gaming ends with the implied jab, at others, to touch grass.
Most people have more self-awareness than that.
Bro got smoked by a 14 yr and decided to rant about it on a sub which explicitly bans rant posts.

Skill Issue
This is the first time I’ve seen “troglodytes” used in the wild unironically. Today is a good day.
Nah, learning to counter cheeese is part of getting good at given game.
I think if you play lame when stakes are low you can be both good at the game and an asshole. If a guy recovery stalls in Pokémon to win a game, it’s lame but their strategy was simply better in practice. I do think that it’s more fun to craft the game you want to play, but if you’re losing because of it, you gotta accept that you’re bad
I agree that it makes them an asshole, but disagree that it means they aren’t good at the game. They are winning, they are good at the game. You are upset that they aren’t playing the game the way you want them to play, or the way the developers intended them to play… but they are still playing within the allowed rules. If the devs don’t change the rules to make what they are doing not allowed then the way the players are winning is allowed and it is wrong of you to claim they aren’t good because you disagree with how they are winning. You can claim they are only good if they abuse this one specific strategy and that makes them and/or the game dumb, but it is not right to claim they are outright not good when they are winning.
Was about to drop a “get gud” on you for that opinion. Than I saw the MK bagging example and damn… I have to admit you’re right. Though I think its more the developers fault but I swear to god, if I see one more “WeLl tHiS iS a BaGgInG tRaCk” tutorial on YouTube, i will fucking lose it.
Depending on how much counterplay there is, it’s just a part of the game. Yes, if it ruins the game for everyone else and there is no way to counter that strategy, go ahead and complain. But cheap strategies are often vulnerable in some way, so you can play around it.
