I don’t recall taking my tampon out when I came home from work.
I did the squat down and feel around. (2 fingers, knuckledeep)
Now… I’ve never felt around in my vagina, idk wtf is going on in there. There is something I feel like I can get a hold of but it feels more like it’s my spine or something. “Getting a hold” of it feels weird and a bit sore. (And because of that I assume it’s not my tampon)
My question is, if I have a lost tampon stuck up would I be unable to feel it with with my fingers? (Idk how deep it goes)
How obvious would the tampon be. Wtf is the thing I can get a hold of?
I’m fairly certain probably at a 98% that I did remove it when I came home and I just can’t remember doing it. But just on the 2% off chance I wanted to ask
I tried googling and all it tells me is “tampons can’t get “lost in your body” and it’s incredibly unhelpful.
I’m not currently on my period but it’s about to hit, so I had a preemptive tampon as I didn’t want to get caught out while at work
Sorry if this is dumb… and thanks
(Also, I’ve used tampons for 15 years. I have never had one “disappear” on me)

There is something like a lost tampon syndrome. If you aren’t sure I would go to the doctor. If you haven’t forgotten it and it’s still in there, it can lead to a toxic shock due to bacteria. You aren’t the first and you won’t be the last. Don’t be embarrassed about it. Shit happens. Worst case she will do an ultrasound to locate it.
Its very very very very unlikely it made it up your cervix.
If you didn’t find it squatting and using your fingers it isn’t there.
Dang this sounds frustrating! Make sure to flex your muscles like you’re trying to poop to see if it brings anything forward. If you’re swishing around, you probably got it already. I’m not a tampon user because I didn’t like pulling out such a big wad of waste every time. You should trust yourself after 15 years haha
There’s no where for the tampon to go so it’ll stay in your vagina until removed. Your tampon would feel cottony and sort of rough, run a tampon under water and feel what it feels like wet, it would be a similar texture.
If it hurts when you try to grab onto it, it’s probably not your tampon. It may be your cervix if it feels smooth and almost cone shaped.
It is EXTREMELY obvious when you have a lost tampon when you go fishing around with your fingers. The space is finite and the texture of a tampon is noticeably different.
Kinda sounds like you are grabbing your cervix, which sounds horrifically uncomfortable. Grabbing a tampon won’t give you and sensation
This is tmi but back in the 80’s (was in my 30’s) I didn’t realize I shoved one tampon on another (was drunk). Probably a year later I started smelling something bad down there. Then one day I was peeing and a dead mouse fell out. It was the long , lost tampon. I didn’t have insurance or the money for a doctor.
Congrats you found your cervix! Sorry about the lost tampon though.
One time I thought I lost a tampon because I didn’t remember taking it out but couldn’t it. I still don’t know where the thing went but I use menstrual discs now so I’m 100% certain it’s not still in me. I can only assume I either forgot to put one in or forgot removing it.
Call your gyn ASAP. I work at a gyn offices and we always get lost tampons calls. There is never judgement.
