Location: Virginia. My ex’s former girlfriend tested positive for herpes (before they ever had sexual relations). He knew that and proceeded with her. I have multiples forms of proof that he knew that (texts, word of mouth, his profile on a herpes dating app). I know for a fact I got it from him.
I want to make sure this never happens to another woman. I also want to make sure he understands the consequences of his actions, as he is still denying to this day that he knew. What are my options to move forward in seeking justice? Feel free to ask any follow up questions and thank you for your help.

Wait! There’s a herpes dating app?
…. Herpes dating app?
Does your ex have any money? If not, suing him is a waste of time and (your) money. As much as you might like to think suing him/getting a judgment against him will “protect other women” you’re kidding yourself.
There have been thousands of successful lawsuits against people who knowingly infect others with herpes without disclosing. You can consult with a local personal injury attorney about whether or not this is worth pursuing. It will likely depend on your ex’s finances and future earning potential.
