Waiver of service?

Location: Gatesville/Waco Texas. My narcissist husband decided
in March to end our 26 marriage. Received an email from his lawyer including Waiver of services. I have have been diagnosed with copendency and have been told by friends and family to get a lawyer but when I tried all wanted $2,000 to 12,000 retainer, which I do not have. He cashed in his 401k to hire his how do I protect myself from him? If I sign am I trapped?
