Hi, thanks for reading. I was served a Notice of Trespass by my parents even though I’ve lived in the house they own for years. Is this wrongful eviction?
They are moving and plan on selling the house. My dad got an apartment that I have some of my things in now; both our names are on the lease, which means he has 3 different residences now. Before I was given the notice, I was at the house at least 5 days a week for the entire day, was running my business from the house, and was sleeping there at least half the week. I also still had all essentials at the house for me like clothing, personal toiletries, etc, in addition to my other belongings.
I helped move some of my things over to the apartment while still living at the house. They’ve now been removing my things from the house without my consent/permission, as well as throwing away and giving away some of my things as well.
My legal address on my license is still at the house, my paychecks and all my mail and packages go there, my business address is still the house, and I have even given it as my address to law enforcement and government agencies multiple times before and after I was given the notice.
I did not attack/assault/injure anyone, which is what I was told these notices are for.
