Emotionally abusive husband of 10 years was upset that I want to separate (we have a child together). I was recording the conversation on my phone because I wanted some evidence of the ways he can talk to me.
Well, when I go to stop it he saw what I had done and ripped my phone from my hands. He refused to give it back, and started to get physical and aggressive when I tried to get it back.
I asked him over and over to PLEASE give me my phone! Ran after him up the stairs and he like grabbed and pushed me, I managed to get his hands away but he still got the phone before I could. He locked himself in the bathroom – and I noticed his phone fell out of his pocket so I called 911.
Of course he deleted the video (16 minutes long) then tried to play the victim saying he was confused and scared?? Meanwhile I’ve got bruises on my arms and my ribs are sore.
Of course I got him and his mom berating me for calling the cops. I mean, was that not fucked up of him to do?? I wasn’t doing this on purpose, but I wanted to remember the things he says to me. Not my fault they show his abuse…
My daughter and I left, and tomorrow we will be moving into our own apartment. We are safe and will be okay.
But I was not wrong to call the cops, right??

I am so sorry you’re going through this and you were absolutely right to call the police, I hope you’re safe. I’m also so disgusted with these male centered mothers who enable their sons to abuse women
You can probably recover the deleted video if you need it. Though I would advise against using the phone until you get that done so it doesn’t get overwritten.
He stole your phone and assaulted you. Of course calling the police was the right thing to do.
