Weird question: Are teenagers inherently bad people?

r/

Awhile ago, I overheard someone say that teens just suck and that if you didn’t suck as a teen, you were probably just “anxious”, not better than the other kids.

Would you say that this is true? If so, why are teenagers like this?

Are the supposed good kids really just shy, or closed off, cowards, etc. in reality? Does genuine empathy or kindness exist in this age group?

Of course empathy and kindness exist among teenagers

They’re not bad people, they’re learning how to exist in society and be an adult in the world. Their brains are fully formed and they aren’t socialized. So to adults, it’s easy to just say they’re shitty but in reality teens are just doing what they’ve always done.

No! They’re just humans learning about the world. I’m sure our parents generation thought the same about us.

They’re not bad, they’re just learning what’s appropriate and what’s not. You remember what it’s like surely? They’ve got poor impulse control and high dopamine drive, so they’re more likely to do stupid/shitty things, but usually very quickly without thinking about it properly.

    Yes. They’re crap.

No they’re not inherently bad, they are products of their environments.
