What age did you start feeling achy and just overall different?

r/

I’m 29 and over the last 6 months to a year I’ve been feeling much different mainly like I’m getting old and stiff. I use to be able to workout super intense and just be a little sore the next day maybe a 4/10 now when I work out any muscle group I wake up feeling like a 8/10 soreness. Idk if this is stress, poor diet, iffy sleep patterns or maybe low T because my testosterone does go low when I’m not on enclomiphene which I’ve been off for 4 months. Overall I’m just feeling way more stiff and lethargic and overall older. When did you guys notice things changing in your body?

Go see a doctor. Not Reddit. I’m 39 and never felt that way.

Eh, maybe somewhere in my mid-late 20’s

I just hit the big 40 and I don’t feel that way, but I work out, eat well, and don’t drink or smoke.

Mid 30s was when I noticed.

But oddly I didn’t really start working out until around the same time. So I felt both better and worse simultaneously.

I’m 43 and in much better shape than I was at 23. But MAN do things hurt more when they don’t go right and they take longer to heal

39 and I’ll let you know when it happens.

I’m 46 and am still hanging on to my ultramarathon fitness as best as I can. I’d say about 40 is when I started to not recover nearly as quickly, more soreness, etc.

    Early to mid 30’s maybe

I’m your age, feel the same way, yoga helps me, I don’t eat white flour anymore even from beer because it inflames my joints. More fruits and vedge in my diet has helped me as well.

Are you comparing DOMS from consistent workout versus sporadic? Because it doesn’t matter how young you are, if you start working out after at least a month break, you’ll get DOMs.

I’m 42, lift consistently for almost 10 years now and I still feel sprightly.

I’m 31 and today I went out with my girl. My right hip and right knee hurt a lot. My back has been in constant pain for years already. It all started like 5 years ago. Last night I struggled to sleep through the pain and on top our AC stopped working so it was way too hot in this heat wave and I wanted to die. Can’t wait to start moving tomorrow into a much better building.

It really went down hill fast at 40, but I got in shape and started going to the gym and living a more healthy lifestyle and I feel much better now. 40 is the cliff.

34 and still feel pretty good. Can’t drink like I used to but that’s about all I notice.

See a doctor and see if something is up. That shouldn’t be an issue for an otherwise healthy individual, especially at your age.

35 and I’m as limber as I’ve ever been. Really glad I’ve avoided back injuries.

These people are lying to you or to themselves. Just like pro athletes there is a wall when you approach 40. There’s also another wall when you’re approaching 30 but not as drastic.

Diet, exercise and most importantly genetics can change this in both directions but thats how it goes

Then the next big one is around 55 but you’ll be smart enough not to listen to these redditor’s by then

For me it started at around 32 with all the aches and pains

I made it to 43. Then I made a noise when I got up off the floor one time and it’s been touch and go ever since🤔

Some days, I think I might take up skateboarding again……others I’m thinking of buying a cardigan and taking up reading as a hobby🤣

I should add, since most here have detailed their lifestyle. I have lived the most anti health lifestyle possible. Drinking, smoking. Meth. Heroin, No activity and a diet of mostly fat and sugar.🤷‍♂️

When I was your age I felt achy for years and then found out that I just didn’t have enough variety in my diet. It went away when I started eating bananas. Potassium ftw.

Now I’m almost 50. This time it isn’t going away because I’m getting up there. Not horrible… Just a bit achy.

Last few months. Just turned 57 and feel like crap most days.

Do you have some new or…increasingly difficult life challenges?

I think it’s more about the recovery time for strenuous activities.

I’m very active on weekends with yard work, masonry, firewood, etc. But even if I have a three day weekend, by the 3rd day, I usually need a few days to recover.
