I’m in my sixties and I honestly feel much younger but recently when I catch myself in a mirror or see a picture of myself I look older. This seems to bug the heck out of me. What is your experience ?
What age do you feel when you are in your sixties?

How to turn pc on
Somewhere between 28 and “why did my knee just make that sound?” The mirror’s just rude — the mind still thinks we’re invincible.
I don’t think about it, I just get up every morning and go do whatever it is I want to for the day.
66 and retired.
I’m like yourself. I feel younger. I tend to bypass/ignore what I look like in the mirror. How I feel is more important to me than how I look. Positive thinking is the key.
I’m 45 and don’t feel a day over 30.
63 here. Feel maybe 25, but not exactly. Mirrors always show someone else.
2/3rds
As in 2/3rds through my lifespan.
Just hit 60. Mentally still feel in my 20’s although a neuropsych evaluation would surely dispute that. Physically? Late 40’s maybe. Things hurt a little but not too bad. I have noticed my stamina taking a hit recently but I probably just need a health pack or something.
I’m 49 and feel solidly in my 30s.
I’m not even 30 and mentally I feel like I’m 70. The last decade was a rough one for me
I am 37 and I feel like I am in my sixties already. I barely work, semi retired. My knee is starting to pop, gout attacks, stage 2 hypertension, high blood sugar…….
I am 63. I feel the same as when I was 25 to 30. I have almost no signs of aging. I am still strong, have stamina and drive. When we met my wife thought I was 30. I was 60. I look the same as I looked in photos from two decades ago and the same as I remember my grandfather looking in photos when he was in his 30s. All of my family ages slowly and live long lives. So a big part of it is genetics. We are all very active in doing stuff right up to near the end. I eat a healthy diet, get a lot of exercise, don’t drink, smoke, etc. I have a lot of things planned for the future.
40s, I’ve had a life filled with a lot of broken bones, torn tendons and other surgeries/ medical issues.
I agree with looking in the mirror and looking older than you want. I have to start fully shaving regularly. I also am going to try dying my hair for the first time, soon.
Well, I just turned 60 June 13. I feel pretty great. I work out a few times a week. My health is great. I dress well and look pretty good. I work in a job I enjoy. Finances are good. I take nice vacations every year. Do I wish I had some things better? Sure. I would like my full head of hair back. I would like dark hair back. I would like smooth, clear, non-wrinkled skin back. I would like my joints to be like new again. But that’s life. We should try to be the best we can be and feel as we age. I feel younger than 60, though. I can still ride bikes, and I still do. I can still skateboard, and I still do. I can do 80 push-ups, and I still do. I can run on the elliptical machine for 2 hours and 16 miles, and I still do. Fitness and good nutrition help a lot as you age. Fitness and nutrition have been a cornerstone of my youthful vigor.
I’m not in my 60s, but I will say in my early 40s, without exercise and don’t eat healthy. I am still very flexible, and still very strong, I still carry my wife around, who only recently got below 200lbs (was over 250).
I can still run with the young ones and keep up if not even out run them.
But when I look in the mirror, I’m terrified.
