    Regularly spray (mixed with water) /dust with them cayenne pepper powder

    I recommend getting over the aversion to snap traps. The world has plenty of mice, they won’t be missed.

    I don’t have mice but I am fending off two chubby little groundhogs using cayenne pepper. I even took fruit and and coated it in oil and cayenne, planted the fruit pieces in the garden as a preemptive strike. I’m trying to train them that everything in the garden area is off limits.

    Don’t keep the tomatoes where mice can get to them.

    Hang red Christmas baubles on them as soon as the plants are strong enough to hold them. Animals will learn that the red orbs aren’t edible by the time that your tomatoes turn red.
