It’s made people crave attention more. Some care more about likes and looking good as a couple than actually being happy together.
I’ve noticed my current partner and previous partner do things in the relationship that were paralleled in viral memes. Things like jokingly asking “what flavour of pad do you want me to get?” or (my current partner) the 5 minute cuddle alarm whenever we spend nights together. My partner from before that was before tiktok/reels were a thing so I don’t think he was ever influenced in that way. These things aren’t bad but they did make me realise that there might be other ways social media might’ve influenced them that I haven’t picked up on.
Any all events have to be broadcast to social media for some. Weddings are out of control people living beyond their means for IG aesthetic. Social competition.

Social media made people crave the aesthetic of love more than the reality of it.
