One that falls under both categories: drone piloting.
It’s interesting when you finally stitch together some footage worth watching, but the process of flying, following the rules, abiding by FAA part 107 and especially while you’re flying is certainly not a social experience, if anything, you want as little distraction as possible.
It’s especially frustrating if you’re mid-flight and someone approaches you because they’re interested in it…I’m considering wearing a sign around my neck that says “do not disturb” because it only interferes with a process that’s particularly delicate.
Most interesting: Deep-diving random internet rabbit holes at 3AM and emerging with niche knowledge no one asked for.
Least interesting: Staring at walls and calling it “thinking”
Least interesting: running. Everyone and their mom is doing it since the pandemic.
Most interesting: building mechanical keyboards. Pretty nerdy topic, but I have learned many useful skills that are applicable elsewhere, like soldering, understanding and troubleshooting circuit boards, how to oil and grease mechanical bits like maintaining bicycles and a few others. Like most internet based hobbies the rabbit hole goes pretty deep, and it gets expensive fast, so lately it’s fallen by the wayside a bit. But I hope to pick back up sometime.
I’m not sure if this is least interesting, but reading. The reason why is because I think more people are just into doom scrolling now than opening a book. But at the same time there are still people who are committed to it, esp. with physical books (with that said I’m now reading Salem’s Lot)
Most interesting: making gifs haha I like wrestling so from time to time when I like a particular scene I go for it.
Ballroom dancing, most and in some ways, least interesting. Few people really have the patience to learn it, but it’s way easier than most people think. It’s definitely a feather in your cap to be good at it.

Most…boats and fishing. Least…scrolling my phone looking at boats and fishing stuff.
