Hey everyone,
I’m 25 and currently the sole caregiver for my girlfriend who has end-stage kidney disease. She’s on dialysis and requires constant support like hospital visits, meds, meals, emotional care, the whole lot. Her parents have completely stepped out of the picture, so it’s just me holding everything down.
Because of that, I can’t commit to a 9–5 or anything on-site. My schedule is unpredictable, but I do get pockets of time throughout the day. I’m looking for something flexible that I can do online and on the go, ideally something that has real income potential over time, not just quick $5 gigs.
I’m not afraid to put in the work, I just need direction.
What are some realistic ways to earn decent money online given my situation? Any advice, experiences, or guidance would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks in advance

That would depend on what skills you have, what experience you have, and what educational background you have.

Prolific has surveys you can complete to make upwards of 100 to 250 per month. Usually around $10 per hour. But it’s really hard to get in unless you are a good writer.
I don’t know if these opportunities are available in sri lanka, but in the US there are a lot of AI-training things out there. Basically getting paid to do the “select the better answer” thing on chatgpt.
Look into getting TEFL/TESOL/CELTA if your English is good (seems to be fine from your replies). You can teach English online and make some money. Not an incredible salary but it’s not terrible either. If you have good Internet, a half decent laptop (they usually ask for i5) and you can speak English well enough you can teach it for any of the thousands of platforms online.
CELTA is pricy and not all that useful unless you’re going to make a career of it, but even with just a TEFL you can start teaching for pretty cheap. Most places don’t care where you got it as long as you have it.
I hear OF is pretty lucrative.
