What can/should I do if someone seems sex trafficked in Mexico?

r/

I’m at a restaurant. She’s young, he’s older, her sneakers are off and near him. Something seems off.

Alert the waitress/chef. Tell them to be discreet and hopefully they handle it well. Keep an eye on it and be safe

    Maybe distract the guy

honestly i’d tell a waitress or something but from what i’ve heard the police might not do any justice so i’d leave it up to a local

In Mexico? Keep your mouth shut till you get back to the states. I wouldn’t trust nobody.

Discretely take a photo to show authorities. What part of Mexico?

    Reverse the genders.

nothing you are in the wrong place to be making enemies

I’d say call the police, but honestly man, you know the place you’re in. Can they be trusted? If not..just be careful. Don’t be a hero

    And people complain about America.

Are you Mexican living in Mexico or a tourist? The police and government in Mexico are very corrupt and probably in the pocket of the traffickers. I would be very hesitant to say anything. Mexican jail is not like American jail.

Maybe take a photo in case you see a missing persons poster or search online to see if you can find anything about it.

Call the National Human Trafficking Hotline 1-888-373-7888 – they may know resources in Mexico

Edit – from u/blazebakun The National Human Trafficking Hotline in Mexico is 800-5533-000.

This can’t be real..seems either naive or baited internet traffic…we all acknowledge it happens here but he’s talking about in Mexico, gtfo

Shut the fuck up and stay out if it. Opening your mouth will probably get you killed.

Maybe ask the price. The response willl confirm whether they are trafficked or not. Then you can go to the authorities with more than a hunch.

She seems sex trafficked because there’s an age difference and her shoes are off?

  17. HardLobster Avatar

You’re in Mexico, you do nothing unless you wanna disappear

  18. o_Divine_o Avatar

ladies shoes are off and are in closer proximity to the older guy.

Impeccable evidence, you should become a prosecutor.

Human Trafficking Data Collection Activities, 2024.. basically shows you’ll likely never encounter a sex trafficking victim or the criminal. The figures are microscopic.

Stop watching the fear mongering network that cosplays as “news” while rarely having factual information.

LOL a lot of comments are waaaay to paranoid. I mean things in México are bad, but not thaaaaat bad.

You can go to an apart place where they can’t hear you or after you left the place and call ANONYMOUSLY 911, just say the situation, give them the address and all the details you think are enough. Then move on and hopefully they will send somebody to check it out… Or maybe they dont, but in here is all what you can do if you want to help but don’t want to put your self in a compromised situation.

Nothing unless you don’t wanna be on earth anymore.

  21. Mikunefolf Avatar

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do without risking a hideous demise for you and probably them too. Keep quiet and report when you return home, it’s really all you can do. The police and cartels and other criminals are all in conspiracy together there and you don’t know who works for who. The restaurant itself could be owned by or be linked to these people for all you know.

Uhhh don’t stick your nose where it don’t belong. Unless you like sleeping with fish 🥺

  23. MacDaddyDC Avatar

mind your business and shut up. The rules you’re used to don’t apply there and you’ll get hurt at a minimum.

  24. encendedorsote Avatar

That’s probably arranged, it is normal to watch Canadian and American guys doing that, I think there’s even this Acapulco where it is a normal thing but you can’t do anything because they have power to do it

Edit. It is bad that is normal and it really sucks 😞

Thank you for giving me yet another reason to never visit Mexico.
