My hair to ginger to make my green eyes stand out. And was 100% easier to maintain than highlighted blonde.

Also working out and eating healthy. But that’s a bit obvious.

  2. Double-Profession900 Avatar

I started working out more. Running, weightlifting, Pilates, yoga, and a healthy diet of protein and veggies made my body look a lot better. Add clothes that flatter my shape and coloring, and the difference in the way people treat me is crazy.

  3. dough_eating_squid Avatar

Got a better hairstyle (I let the stylist do what she wanted, and she has a talent for choosing what will look great on an individual).

  4. mookmook616 Avatar

    sunscreen everyday

  5. Alternative-Crab-414 Avatar

I stopped comparing myself to others and focused on what makes me feel good. That mindset shift made the biggest difference in how I see myself.

  6. Due-Contract6905 Avatar

I stopped straightening my hair and started spending money on proper hair and skin products. No idea if it’s made any difference, but it feels nice.

  7. candyaddictsweetooth Avatar

Changed my diet, hit the gym 3 x week, get lashes and nails done, buy clothes I feel good in, wax, style my hair.

  8. WeightOld3503 Avatar

I was always pretty for others It was me not seeing my beauty.

So I grow up and started to like myself. How? I grow up I guess.

The rest is just normal stuff, i do my hair in a way I like it, keep it healthy and well taken care of.

The same for my body, work out, drink water, be active, take care of your skin and your hygine.

Have hobbies and passions, take care of your teeth.

Have a nice style and be nice.

  9. thanarealnobody Avatar

Using high quality tinted moisturiser. People respect you more if they think you have nice skin but in a natural way.

Also tucking my hair behind my ears.

    And being more whimsical.

  10. AstronomyLuver Avatar

I had worked out and got a six pack 😌
Now I miss it lol, I might work out to get it again. I still have my muscle on my arms though 🙂

  11. Strong_Film7845 Avatar

I started curling the front few strands of my hair and it made me feel prettier

  12. noonecaresat805 Avatar

I realized my clothes made me feel frumpy. So I figured out what kind of clothes worked on my body and I redid my wardrobe. It made all the difference

  13. Chezm2beme2 Avatar

Ive stopped using heat products on my naturally curly hair and embrced the curls lmao, now I buy products to help with curls and natural hair.

Added plus is not heat damaging my hair too.

  14. -o__u__o- Avatar

Stand straight, like imagine a string is lifting you up, shoulders back, back straight, do exercise like Pilates, barre, yoga which builds lean muscle, builds confidence, self awareness, core strength, and makes you move more “elegantly”. It really helps mobility. It reduces inflammation and leans out your face and legs. Makes your skin bright. Costs a lot less than a new wardrobe lol.

  15. bellyfloppin Avatar

    I started wearing earrings.

  16. Rabbitzan12 Avatar

I didn’t, I embraced the chaos as was my initial purpose in life.

  17. freekin-bats11 Avatar

Wash my face every morning lol (if I dont shower).

Im slackin now but fr it made a difference when I didnt skip. Less breakouts mainly.

  18. eilys Avatar

Got my clothes tailored to my height and size

  19. Me-happy-happy Avatar

Started moisturising my face before bed and before I do a full face of makeup

  20. PrincessJellyfish17 Avatar

A couple swipes of mascara makes me feel instantly prettier

  21. drumadarragh Avatar

    Lost weight and started lifting

  22. Masking1stform Avatar

Skincare. It doesn’t need to be a ton of steps. I use 3 products (if you don’t count makeup remover) and my face looks great now. It helped me a lot. I still can’t say I feel prettier over all, but it feels nice and it’s nice to look ok even without makeup

  23. sara4sunshine Avatar

Started wearing girl colors. Lol black, grey and brown dont show dirt. So now my pinkz purple and reds have stains from me doing whatever i do out there. Haha today its caulking the porch and foundation whoot

  24. Low_Turn_4568 Avatar

    I dye my hair darker

Everyday I put on 3 makeup items

Workout, eat healthy, drink water, take vitamins

And I’m getting my boobs done this year 🥰

  25. Connie_Damico Avatar

I only wear clothes and colors that flatter my body type and coloring. It makes getting dressed and doing my makeup and even shopping for that stuff so much easier and the effect is really dramatic, I just looked dramatically better when I dress for my body type and wear my specific color palette

  26. Shigeko_Kageyama Avatar

Nothing. I just dress for my body type. I am what I am. I’m not starting a body project, once you start one it’s impossible to stop.

  27. rat_cheese_token Avatar

My hair is white/grey and using blush or bronzer makes me look “alive” and not washed out or pale. Also, only buying clothes that fit really well.

  28. Cold-Movie-1482 Avatar

    working out and eating right.

  29. No-Lemon-1183 Avatar

Treated my acne, got a conventional hairstyle, avoid wearing glasses unless needed to read also got new glasses , wear standard clean cut style clothing even if it’s not a colour or fabric that spark joy so that I can fit in

  30. MerryBerry4487 Avatar

Just ate healthier. I made my skin better.

  31. AgitatedAttempt4217 Avatar
    1. Healthy weight 2. Switched the wardrobe up to nicer items that fit better and were ONLY in my best colors. 3. Learned actual makeup technique instead of being super duper amateur with it.
  32. Vivid-Conclusion8521 Avatar

I changed my perspective of myself.

  33. Allen_girl_2012 Avatar

I started curling my hair to give it the beach wave effect. My hairstylist (was new to me at the time) taught me how and I bought a long barrel curling iron. I feel like I will never do my hair another way. I also started using self tanner again. St Tropez is my tried and true. In my opinion, they are all a pain to apply but the results are worth it if being tanned makes you feel better like it does me!

  34. Shiiny_Staar06 Avatar

start taking better care of my hair and skin

  35. CursedUnicorn420 Avatar

Started getting my hair bleached, lost 2 stone, started getting Botox and cheek filler. It’s all made such a world of difference. I look like a totally different person, compared with me two years ago.
I just feel so much better.

  36. Queasy_Pain7522 Avatar

Using makeup to enhance and compliment my features instead of following trends to cover things up. A nice natural look but slight changes help. I love lip liner, couldn’t live without it now.

  37. Money_These Avatar

About a year ago, changed my eating habits, got back to exercising, and keep a decent sleep schedule. Getting the right amount of sleep is so important to one’s overall well-being. Also, got more ear piercings, which thankfully is not a big issue at work. But most importantly, just trying to live each day on a positive note – no comparisons amongst others, just be a better version of myself.

  38. RebecaHelenaPearson Avatar

Lots of accessories, always groomed eyelashes and foundation

  39. infiniteretardation Avatar

Exercise, cleaning up my diet, and a tan

  40. 12manytimez Avatar

I removed about 40% of my eyebrow (yes, singular) which also extended to my forehead and temples. That and getting rid of my stache LOL. It wasnt enough so then i deleted tiktok and Instagram. Works like a charm

  41. thatsprettylitbro Avatar

I now regularly die my hair about two shades darker. My natural shade washes out my face.

  42. Regular-Classroom-20 Avatar

Learned about my facial proportions, my body type, my coloring, and my overall “essence.” Then, made strategic style changes. Generic advice that could be useful to anyone:

    • Good health is the foundation of beauty.
    • Eyebrows and haircut have a drastic effect on how your face looks.
    • No matter your body type, a fit and athletic look suits everyone and gets you instant respect from people.
    • The color season stuff is useful for figuring out what colors and jewelry look best on you.
    • You look best when you go with your natural “essence.” This is hard to define but for example…I have a tomboyish vibe whether I like it or not. I like girly looks but they are always going to look weird on me. I lean into sporty, casual looks instead.
    • Keep in mind that what works for you might not always be the “trendy” look.
  43. Jadedkiss Avatar

Jewelry, blush + i curl my lashes and sometimes wear mascara

  44. sheikahr Avatar

    I stopped wearing make up

  45. Professional-Fox1387 Avatar

embraced my natural wavy curly hair. stopped wearing oversized pants with oversized tees. started smiling with my teeth in photos 🙂

  46. APrivateLittleThing Avatar

Stop dressing casual and embracing the more feminine and more extra looks! Better make up but still light to only enhance my beauty.

  47. kizmitraindeer Avatar

    Starved periodically

  48. lentil5 Avatar

    Started prioritising my sleep.

Also I buzzed my head. I have kept it really short. It works well for my head shape and I am more confident cause I have to carry it.

  49. monicam9792 Avatar

    Tinted my eyebrows

  50. rubythebean Avatar

Some people might hate this, but getting my eyebrows tatted made a big difference to me. I’m able to go out without makeup now without feeling too self conscious.

  51. PreparationTimely233 Avatar

I got bangs, mushroom earrings, and started wearing blush!

  52. jesus-on-a-tricycle Avatar

I let my eyebrows grow out

  53. nooyourecutejeans Avatar

Botox to combat resting bitch face and spironolactone.

But honestly since I had my baby, I don’t even care anymore about impressing other people. I just wanna look pretty for my husband and baby.

  54. DalkonShield Avatar

Extensions with a bit of curl. My hair was stick-straight and I was having trouble growing it past my shoulders. Now it’s at the middle of my back and fuller than ever. I feel so pretty!

  55. Ok-Box8788 Avatar

Died my hair darker and do 1 brushing every week
Injections every 6 months: Botox (forehead), hyaluronic acid (chin, lips)
    Lost weight

  56. LilSweetCasey Avatar

Fixing my diet made a huge difference. Less junk, more water, and real food… my skin cleared up, my body felt better, and I just started looking fresher overall.

  57. Excellent_Owl_8125 Avatar

I fixed my posture (also to prevent back problems:))

  58. Natural-Tadpole-4888 Avatar

Lifting weights consistently, eating healthy, drinking less alcohol, castor oil on eyelashes and skin, simplified my skincare routine, dyed hair darker, became happier and more confident in myself by working on myself and my anxiety

  59. LovelyDollxx0 Avatar

Finally learned to stop over plucking my eyebrows. Turns out caterpillar brows weren’t doing me any favors in 2010. Now they’re actually shaped like eyebrows instead of confused punctuation marks.

  60. xoxo_Cupcake Avatar

Started wearing sunscreen religiously at 25. My mom always nagged me about it but I never listened until I saw the difference between her skin and my aunt’s.

  61. purebear_ Avatar

Lose weight, take care of my skin, dress better and apply make-up. I definitely look prettier now but I still don’t feel pretty.

  62. FrozenFajita Avatar

I started taking self defense class, which both helps me physically (I think), and helps my confidence in myself.

I feel good, so I appear prettier. 👌

  63. seriouslysosweet Avatar

I made a life change vs a diet to lose weight via fasting. Slowly the weight dropped as I learned better make up tricks.

Ladies – full eyebrows that look real take years off. A push up bra. Now that I am ideal weight I have lots of cute clothes.

I can affirm your confidence shoots up as women and men compliment and give you authority that I can only attribute to more beauty/confidence.

  64. Silver-Cookie2644 Avatar

I always forget to stand up straight. Ugh. My posture is so bad.

  65. Ursa-Aureliana Avatar

    Got a personal trainer 😂

I do not think I am pretty/beautiful but she forces me to do exercises I don’t like and it’s helping shape my body differently and lose weight…I have received a few compliments because of it 🤷🏾‍♀️

Next up is a trip to MAC/Sephora for a makeup session because I am terrible at it and need to learn how to make myself look nice lol

  66. sexyscientist_69 Avatar

Lifting weights, calorie deficit, protein goal, step goal. Eating clean and lean meats, eggs, Greek yoghurt etc. A lot of boxes to tick daily but makes me feel good
Occasionally whitening strips on my teeth
Get my brows & hair done regularly
Occasionally go running (not as big on this as lifting though)
Doing this the last 3 years and never felt better

  67. Temporary_Piece2830 Avatar

Anything that made me less confident, I have thin fine curly hair that looked terrible no matter what I did so I invested in heat protection products and a nice blow dryer and now I wake up looking pretty everyday. I have weird eyebrows so I get them done every month and it makes me look very well put together even without makeup. I don’t like the pigmentation on my lips so I use lip stains to make them appear more even and that helps too. Tackling the parts that bothered me reaaaallly boosted my confidence and now I’ve settled into just this rhythm and don’t even care much about my appearance bc I know I look great and it doesn’t preoccupy my mind anymore.

  68. someone_0005 Avatar

Cured my acne. And learned to love myself

  69. littlemissmoxie Avatar

Different haircut, research on flattering colors and clothing shapes/material, learning to practice poses and faces in mirrors and cameras so as to better take pictures, sticking to hydration and moisturizer routines, making sure to have better postures.

That was back when I was trying really hard to be conventionally attractive. I still do from time to time but I tend to be more laid back now as I’ve gotten a little older.

  70. rainbowsync Avatar

i changed my sleep pattern, youd be surprised how effective it is

  71. AutomaticCupcake33 Avatar

Lightened my hair a few shades. Lost the baby weight.

  72. xoxoHoneybun Avatar

Learned to smile more genuinely instead of that awkward forced grin in photos. Had to practice in the mirror like a weirdo but now my pictures actually look like me and not some anxious chipmunk.

  73. Designer-Board9060 Avatar

Weightlifting – it’s made me curvier and feel more feminine in how I look and how clothes fit.

  74. CancerMoon2Caprising Avatar

Focus on what makes you feel sexy, not trying to fit in to someone else’s preferences

  75. MC1RWALLFLOWER Avatar

My tattoos. They make me feel so good about my body and it shines through.

  76. ThatMeasurement3411 Avatar

I used to dress like Justin Bieber, and add beautiful outfits to my board on Pinterest. Then it occurred to me that I could dress like that, so I started to. Life is too short not to dress cute.

  77. Top-Raspberry-7837 Avatar

Making sure to curl/blow dry my hair (that revlon brush thing) and then straighten it. Something about it being sleek makes me feel good and put together. Granted I live in Florida so it doesn’t always stay but it starts out good and feels good.

Also red lipstick. I always feel prettier and more put together with that.

When I used to live in NYC, I’d always wear black jeans and a cute top. Why black? Because a lot of upscale places would reject blue jeans but black were fine. I’d always carry red lipstick, heels and a pair of statement earrings. Throw those on and bam! Dressed! And sometimes add a cutely shaped blazer and super dressed.

  78. sliseattle Avatar

Truly taking care of yourself everyday in a routine. Lotion, masks, nail care and hair care, working out and stretching, putting thought into outfits, jewelry. Listen to podcasts and music that makes you happy while you take care of yourself. Feed your soul, and take care of yourself physically and emotionally because you’re the only one that can. Use a perfume that makes you happy, pick your clothes wisely. Just put as much time into yourself, as you would in picking things for someone else.

  79. eternititi Avatar

I started working out! And having warm, inviting energy. And I’ve always been a girly girl but my femininity is always evolving with age.

  80. TheBarbed_Wire Avatar

Proper posture, graceful confident movement. I’m not bad in the looks department, but moving like you own the room is universally attractive.

  81. undiagnosedadd Avatar

Brows, posture, stretch daily, shave face, hydration, hair styled, daily movement/turn baby fat to muscle, good night skin care routine, clean teeth.

  82. bunny410bunny Avatar

I think I look prettier with highlights, nails done, and a little sun/self tanner (subtle).

  83. Potential_Teacher_77 Avatar

Developed a sense of personal style. What colors I love and look flattering on me. What types of clothes look most flattering followed by always having cute casual clothes. I used to go to the grocery store looking like a bucket of fuck it. But the small interactions and positive (& jealous) feedback worked wonders on my confidence. It’s allllll about fake it till you make it!! Do I have embarrassing moments that keep me up a night? Yes… but I had to make a choice to keep trying and understand failure or goofs are part of the process. Even Sofia vergara & Beyonce misspoke, looked awkward and didn’t always look like perfectly polished women. They were the ones who never stopped trying.

  84. chachabee104 Avatar

    I lost weight.

  85. HAxoxo1998 Avatar

I’m about to start taking weight loss injections. Before I just grew out my natural hair, kept my full clean brows, dressed in a way that isn’t unflattering.

  86. spandexcatsuit Avatar

Every night before bed I wash my face and then apply total indifference to the patriarchy. I’ve been doing this for 11 years and I’m assuming it makes me pretty. But it also might be the fuck fascist beauty standards I’ve been spritzing.

  87. biochemnerd12 Avatar

Prescription-strength retinol and a super thick moisturizer added to my skincare routine, (because found out my skin is of super dry normally). I already had long hair down to my lower back, but I wanted thicker hair and got extensions.

Traded out all my old mid-2000’s low rise jeans for better fitting jeans in my proper size and got better clothes now.

Was an athlete all my life, (basketball) so just maintained my gym routine and in general I feel and look younger than many of my peers.

  88. StructureIcy1540 Avatar

I would wear clothes according to my taste. I would use makeup to cover up some things that I prefer not to be seen. It would improve my attitude, too. Attitude is everything!

  89. Charming3-Angel Avatar

Actually started drinking water instead of just coffee all day. My skin cleared up within weeks and the dark circles under my eyes got so much better.
