I was in the town I grew up in for a job in the closest city. Hadn’t planned anything as a long relationship had just ended and my ex was full-on stalking me (flew to my childhood town because he’d seen I was giving a lecture there and «he didn’t get to see me otherwise). On the day of, my dear friend surprised me and took me out in the country for apple picking and a stay at a nice, all inclusive resort. We swam in the ocean, did sauna, ate a lot of good food. For the day of the lecture, my other dear friend came from the city she lives in to bake cake and make food, invited my family, and helped me host a family get-together. I am very lucky, I didn’t ask any of them to do any of that.
Nothing much, as far as I remember (it was over a decade ago). I think my mum and dad came over to the flat my ex and I lived in at the time and spent a few hours there and that was it. Never been much of a birthday celebration person.
I don’t recall. I’m not really into focusing on my birthday, so I rarely do anything significantly different for it. Maybe a quiet evening at home or dinner out with close friends or my partner at most, so it was probably something like that.
I took the morning off intending to go out for breakfast but we had a massive snowstorm that day. So I worked from home in the afternoon and stayed in. My partner managed to trek out and brought me an ice cream cake he’d ordered for me which made me feel very loved.
My SO organised a boat party for the friends celebration.
I think we went out a dinner and he got me cake for our own celebration. Then I probably celebrated at my parents for the actual day with my family and SO.
I was alone on my 30th but had survived a very difficult year so was kinda celebrating the freedom. Got myself some antique pearls and took treats at work.
I went for a city break with my husband in and around Glasgow. It was lovely. Luckily, it’s a fairly short drive (3h) from where we live, so not too much effort involved.
I washed my hands of my 20s, worst decade of my life. My father died from cancer, I had a series of miscarriages, was diagnosed with non Hodgkin’s lymphoma and had to go on chemo, and finally I got blown off the road by a stolen car. I SPAT on my 20s, they were horrible.

On my 30th, I flew to see my nana for her 90th (her birthday is 2 days away from mine). I didn’t really do anything to celebrate my birthday.
Nothing actually. I don’t understand what to do on my birthdays. I envy people with plans for birthdays
I went to my friend’s wedding and celebrated the heck out of her and her husband.
I was working! It was a mildly hectic day but not absolutely terrible. I enjoyed knowing that life doesn’t change just because of a number.

My husband flew us to Paris for a 2 week holiday, and on the night of my 30th we drank champagne at the Moulin Rouge 🥰

Europe tour for 20 days. Was in Paris on my birthday.
Probably nothing, it’s in July. I’d like to see my boyfriend for a bit if he isn’t busy, I’ve not had a good birthday since I was 14 😭
My city flooded 😂😅
For my 40th, I got a snap Covid lockdown.
Can’t wait to see what 50 brings 😂

Bought myself my first Louis Vuitton
Played laser tag with my partner, my family, and a bunch of random nine year olds. It was awesome. Throwback to my childhood!
Met a good friend in Denver for a long weekend. We hiked, danced, laughed and did a photo shoot at the selfie museum. 10/10
I had a baby. Actually it was the day before, but I was still in the hospital.
Went to Disney World. 🙌
Went to new York 💃
We had a mini Amazing Race. We were 11 teams if 2, and drove around town and had to complete tasks. Was a lot of fun!
My friend group has shrunk since then to a lot if people moving away, noy sure what we will do for my 40th in 2 years time.

I flew home, stayed up till the next day, and after 5hrs of sleep went to get a tattoo 🤟🏽😎
My boyfriend threw me a surprise party at our favorite natural wine bar!
I turned 30 during Covid! I had a nice dinner with friends. It was lovely. Now, I do a national park hiking trip every birthday.
Had an amazing posh dinner, got drunk, got high. Cracking stuff.
