What do I do and what should I do? My friends dog bit me on the labia.
My friends dog is known for being a humper to strangers and etc but I fell while around the dog and it bit me and I started bleeding through my shorts and it hurt. I went to take a shower and that stopped the bleeding but whenever I get out it does bleed slightly. I don’t know if I should tell my doctor this I feel so embarrassed and dumb. I’m not hurting but I did take 650mg ibuprofen today and yesterday it’s just slight bleeding. I checked on the wound in the shower and it’s on the inner part of my labia minora I’m pretty sure. I’m not on my period but I have put on pads and there was some blood on them but not too much. I used a tiny bit of Vaseline twice the day before and it’s still slightly bleeding. I really don’t know what to do.
What do I do and what should I do?

Dog mouth is dirty. Go to a doctor asap before you regret it. You probably need antibiotics
Ouch
girl. get your ass to the ER or urgent care. dogs mouths are dirty and that’s an area that will BREED bacteria and you’ll get an infection. don’t be embarrassed. it will be much more embarrassing if you don’t take care of yourself
Infection is the biggest concern. Dog mouths are filthy.
Don’t be embarrassed to talk to your doctor; they’ve seen FAR worse and WAY more embarrassing things than a dog bite.
Go to the doctor immediately for antibiotics/tetanus shots. Dogs have very filthy mouths with lots of bacteria, and anywhere that is potentially moist or covered by clothes gets very gross. You don’t want to risk it given the dog could have a disease or have had something gross in their mouths.
You absolutely need to go to the doctor asap. Even an urgent care wouldn’t be a bad idea since it’s the weekend. I know it isn’t cheap but dog bites are baaad news, the whole “dogs mouths are cleaner than humans” is a total garbage myth. Antibiotics will 100% be prescribed and if it continues bleeding like that it may be deep enough puncture wound to need a stitch or at least some Dermabond glue.
From my 14 years of experience in the medical field I can tell you with certainty that we’ve seen much more embarrassing things and those in the ER on a daily basis probably.
