I don’t call what I do jobs. It’s all a means to my own ultimate design. But a lot of what I’d do you’d call me a lobbyist or a fundraiser. Maybe philanthropist.
I’m making software. It’s actually kind of creative. Not necessarily in what it does, but in a sense of making the code organised, readable, extendable and logical for others.
Childcare. But I’m a student so it’s part time and only the summers. I was a dishwasher at my schools cafeteria but that SUCKED. Never working in a kitchen again, however it was a very good learning experience and has made me a better person
I love my career, but the pay hasn’t kept up and morale is currently low. My brother and sister guardians of the sky deserve way better than were getting, treatment included.
News. Specifically, I manage community outreach. I contact residents about their problems and assign reporters and investigators to the stories that I deem as important or news worthy.
It feels like I am actually making a positive impact in my community. Plus I get to meet a lot of cool people + people bring food in a lot lol
I’m a server. There’s no glory in it, but I make more doing it than I have as an EMT or management in a few different things.
I love that I don’t actually care that much about it. I love that I don’t think about work at all when I’m not there. I love that really, I can’t screw up badly enough to actually cause any real problems.
Also it’s one of the few jobs that more work almost always equals more money (unlike retail where you’re paid whether it’s busy or dead)
Also I only work Friday Saturday Sunday. (About 30 hours total). Pays the bills and 4 days off a week, cannot overstate how much that does for your mental health (most of my adult life has been 5 or 6 day work weeks)
I manage a logistics company and oversee our scheduling process. It’s love/hate, but idk what else I’d be doing and the company power players like me, so I’m pretty secure.
I’m an OTR truck driver, and it’s a mixed bag. Pros include traveling all over the country, seeing new and interesting places, and not having to deal with people. Cons include whacky hours, fluctuating markets, and being away from my family for weeks at a time.

Night shift IT. I like that it is quiet. The hours could be better. I did 15 years in retail so I understand your pain.
