What do you do when a person is snoring too much?

r/

Right now I’m trying to sleep, there’s my best friend sleeping next to me and god! What a way to snore in the morning.
What do you do? I put on headphones but I still hear him so I suddenly try to move him or throw something at him to stop him from snoring.

Get a humidifier. A day or two and they will stop. Just keep that bitch running.

Start screaming like you’re having a bad dream. It has to be loud enough to wake them up but not to the point that it’s unbelievable. Then take a few heavy breaths and go back to sleep like nothing happened

Encourage them to sleep on their side, but ultimately they might need a sleep study and some sort of CPAP machine later in life.

I snore really loudly and my parter asked me if could just not sleep, and I havent since! Give it a go

Right now you can try rolling him onto his side. To prevent future snoring try those breathe right strips or similar nose openers, have him sleep more on his side, and look into if he has a deviated septum/is at risk of sleep apnea

Suggest that they go to a doctor for sleep apnea. You may save their life by doing that.

Tell them they’re snoring! If they’re a nice, considerate person, they’ll take it seriously. What they should do first is get nose strips to wear while sleeping. The strips don’t stop the snoring but they do reduce the noise. They can also take a decongestant before bed.

They should also get checked for sleep apnea as some people here have suggested.

snoring is no joke. your oxygen levels can drop to dangerous levels. they should see a doctor.

Clap as loud as you can just one time.

My trick is to have a fan next to the bed, on my side, facing me. I’ll put that on, throw a pillow over my head too. It helps mute the snores, and the white noise if the fan is kinda soothing to focus on(for me)

I live in a dorm and my roommate snores like hell. I’ve told him multiple times that he needs to do something about his snoring but he doesn’t listen. So I’ve been waking him up every time he starts snoring. There’s been times I’ve woken him up like 6 times on the same night. I honestly don’t think it’s rude to wake someone up if they woke you up because of their snoring. You don’t need to compromise your sleep because of someone else. If they’re good people then they’ll try to do something about it, if not just wake them up every time they wake you up so they know how it feels haha. Maybe that way you’ll disuade them into taking care of it. I still tell him he needs to get it checked out tho.

I’m guessing you’re not sleeping next to him on a daily bases so just let it go. It’s your best friend so I imagine you want the best for him. If he wakes try asking him to sleep with his shoulders and head elevated. You can take a sleeping pill or chug some NyQuil. It’s not like he’s doing it purposely so waking him up or doing anything to him is just plain cruel.

My grandma sewed tennis balls into the back of my grandpa’s old man pajamas, so he couldn’t sleep on his back.

These days I think a sleep study is the better option.
