I see it as levels of responsibility. First level is “Things I NEED to take care of” bills, works, house repairs, car repairs….Second level “Things I should take care of” doctors appts, taking stuff to cleaners, washing car….Then third “Things that help the world around me” ….voting, charity work, anything related to my community, the climate, the world around me. Being responsible may mean different things for different people. For some, just getting out of bed and getting to work is the best they can do. I don’t judge, I just want you to be able to take care of yourself, once you can do that you can branch out. Just the fact you are thinking of this puts you above a lot of people.
Responsibility means you’re the one who’s held accountable when things go wrong. It also means you’re expected to follow through, complete the task, or maintain consistency. If you don’t hold up your end, it’s on you to fix the situation or make it right. Being responsible isn’t just about doing the job, it’s about owning the outcome.
Owning your mistakes and being open to criticism and accepting the help; not getting defensive and shifting blame or even looking for someone to blame – focus on the thing
