Remember the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? Where people were dumping ice water on each other for charity, ten years ago or so?
A group of bullies at my school tricked an autistic kid into doing the “Ice bucket challenge,” but instead of water, they filled the bucket with spit, feces, urine, and tobacco. And poured it onto him.
I remember it being a huge deal locally at the time. The perpetrators were eventually identified and caught.
As for punishment…not sure about all of them, but at least the oldest one (I think he was 18 and possibly liable for a serious punishment) took a plea deal to avoid any jail time and get only probation…but a condition of the probation was that he would have to get a taste of his own medicine of what he put the autistic kid through.
Except…on a dairy farm.
(Yes, apparently such “unusual” punishments do occur and there are tons of examples of them – I was curious and looked into it. The short legal story is that the defendants in such cases could easily get such sentences struck down if they appealed, but then they’d serve a “normal” jail sentence and they don’t want that. There aren’t too many limits to what judges can impose as probation conditions either).
When I heard about it I thought he was getting off way too easy. No prison time and a punishment that would last a couple minutes, tops?
But then someone got a video of his punishment somehow (they definitely weren’t supposed to tape it) which circulated around the school for a bit, and…hoy boy. They used a manure tanker. That stuff poured/oozed onto him for a good 45 seconds straight and he was puking and gagging.
Quite satisfying and fitting, I guess.
Thankfully the video’s been taken down from YT/etc since then. Wouldn’t want that to haunt him the rest of his life. He learned his lesson, I’ll bet.
Got busted boosting cars a couple years after we graduated.
Never heard from him after he was sent upstate. I mean, I hope the guy is out and doing something productive with his life but nobody wants to see him at the reunion.
I befriended him again, years later and we hangout sometimes , he’s a wedding planner and I’m a heavy disel mechanic, i think I won in the end, although he gets free food, so idk that sounds pretty good
Mine ended up in Prison for Rape of a Minor. He messaged her on Facebook and gave her a lot of Vodka before raping her whilst she was passing in & out of consciousness
He racked up a massive coke debt with his dealer. Said dealer then beat the shit out of him, made him destroy his own car with a baseball bat, and made him lick blood off the guys shoes. In front of his girlfriend. He’s like a born again Christian now.
She got really fat and ugly and married a man with intellectual disabilities. Five kids and three have the same or similar disabilities. She struggles to manage it all. I have no sympathy
He became my coworker and friend after high school. Found out his trauma is the root of some of my trauma and he apologized. He matured, I forgave, and he’s now a married electrician with two kids. I attended his wedding.
I remember getting bullied pretty bad in 10th grade. In 11th grade, our school banned paddling as a punishment (under a new law?) but switched to “Buck Rags” for discipline instead. They also got a lot stricter about bullying, as was common in the culture at the time.
If you’re not familiar with the discipline method – goat farmers can make these rags that are thoroughly wiped all over billy (buck) goats in rut, and then stored in jars. They sell them ostensibly to other goat farmers because you can use them for goat breeding purposes (check if lady goats are in heat), but in some areas, 99% of their “customers” are using the rags for child discipline. You make the misbehaving child put their nose in the jar for 2-5 minutes. It smells.
our Vice Principal had one of these rags (he couldn’t even keep the closed jar in his office but kept it in a shed out back), and if you were caught bullying, you were getting your nose put in there.
A lot of students complained but parents tending to be strongly supportive. Personally I loved that they did this, combined with the stronger anti-bullying policy. Bullying and class disruption and all that nonsense went way down.
There was one kid who still tried some stuff on me early in the school year, but it only took one trip to the VP to set him straight. I swear I could still smell it on him at a 10 feet distance the next school day.
Dunno, I grew up, graduated, moved away, and intentionally stopped thinking about them, which it turns out was a very good move for me. They’ve been practically forgotten, and my life is so much better without them!
Mine later came out as gay and get this…married someone with the same first name as me. Definitely just a weird coincidence but what are the odds (I do not have an exceptionally common first name either).
Zero clue, but best bet would be that he eventually completed the prison time he earned shortly after graduation (drugs+violence), got out, then did stupid shit again and went back in… probably 2-3 times more, and they are somewhere in that cycle still.

Two years after graduation, I was working at a bank and a handful of people from high school came in all dressed in black suits or dresses.
I asked them what they were up to and why there all dressed in black.
One of them said, “we’re going to Tim’s funeral. He got high on PCP and ran at a police officer with a meat cleaver. The police officer shot him dead.”
I was shocked for about a minute then thought, “couldn’t happen to a more deserving person.”
Tim’s best friend from high school got a job at KFC as an assistant manager. We’ve now been out of high school over 30 years and he’s still an assistant manager at that same KFC.
One has since died, one I haven’t seen basically since the actual bullying, but I have very occasionally bumped into his sister, and one became a lawyer.
Another one I’m certain I ran into when I went to a small corner store in the middle of fucking nowhere, like an hour from where we grew up. He was working the counter at the place. I don’t actually know if it was him, but I didn’t stick around long enough to find out. The face, particularly the eyes were super distinct though. He always had that look like he was looking through you. Creeepy vibes.
Oh, and another was arrested like 10 years ago for attempted murder, or something like that.
She bullied me for being fat, even though her entire family is also fat. She’s doing okay but her father died of a heart attack and her sister died a slow death from complications related to unmanaged diabetes.
My bully dropped out in our junior year, 4 years later, he was still hanging with high school kids. Buying booze for them, one of them got into a wreck, dropped a dime on him. The last I heard, he got a couple of years.
Regardless of people opining tales of their bully, the best thing you can do is hope they grow and change like we all do since school age (for instance) in which case acknowledge that and give them due respect for getting past that and evolving into a decent human being.
If they are still acting like an arsehole 20 years later then fcuk em.
One died of a heroin overdose. I was surprised that I felt nothing when I found out he had died. He left behind a wife and son. He used to scare me big time. I wish I felt worse about his death. I don’t. Which makes me feel worse about myself.
One became the president of his father’s bank. I saw him at a bar decades later. He looked just as dumb and ogre-like, but was clearly rich. He still acted like a brutal pile of human garbage. He recently opened another bank, and was in a newspaper article bragging about letting a local person with disabilities come in and sort dollar bills for a few hours a week.
I hope someone poops in his cereal every day for the rest of his life.
My bully fell hard. In high school he drove a mint 60s muscle car. He dated the hottest girl in school, who we heard was actively snorted her trust fund. I never saw the financils, but I remember the times they sat in cars at parties snorting coke. My bully once punched me so hard I damaged the drywall in the classroom. All because he just had a fight with the hot girl and needed to punch someone. One day he totaled the muscle car while drinking. A few days later he had a new muscle car, just as nice and this became a pattern for a while. Then one day after totaling another mint muscle car, he didn’t have a hot car. He showed up in a pretty beat up car. Daddy apparently cut him off. The hot girl broke up with him, his friends kind of took a step back. I don’t remember if he graduated. I was concerned this prick would always be in my life, but thankfully he disappeared.
The last I heard he was working as a cashier at some small town gas station and living in a trailer. Part of me always wanted to drive to the town, find him working and laugh at him. The truth is, no amount of revenge on my part could ever equal what life had done to him.
One of them died of a brain tumor before finishing college. That was sad, he wasn’t one of the worst. After that, I have forgotten most of their names, so no idea.
After a certain incident involving him wounding a classmate and me, he’s got his arse whooped by my friends of higher years (still gotta thank them for it, sorry), my bro had a very stern talk to him which embarrassed him heavily.
Years later i’d heard the bully was still a bit of a douche, but far more diplomatic than as a teen, grown to be more likable, and i hope; on a better place mentally.

She would have boys kick me. She had control of everybody and really did a number on me daily for three years.
One day I came home from where I was living. Probably 8-10 years later. My Dad, he had saved a newspaper article for me. And it was the story of what happened to Kelly.
Since high school, apparently she had two kids and was a single mom. Had a drug problem. Obviously broke. So she took her two kids and stole a car drove to her drug dealer’s house and robbed him at gunpoint and then went and did the drugs in the car with the kids and got caught and went to jail.
It was actually one of the most lovely newspaper articles I’ve ever read in my life.
I had a middle school bully but I offered to fight him after school and he said he had to catch the bus. Then he started sitting with me and my friends at lunch.
He died of stupidity a few years after high school. Nobody was surprised, nobody cared. Even his older sister said he got what was coming to him. Some people just don’t deserve to be here.
They’re dead, it was a group of 4 friends who were pieces of shit, genuinely they likely only gradutcause their parents had money, somehow got into the same ivy league school. They all went out partying one night in college, no designated driver. Driver, who was well over the legal limit wraps his rather expensive SUV around a tree after doing like 80 in a 45 at 2 am. The 2 on the passenger side died on impact, rear driver side passenger died later at the hospital. Driver was the only one who lived, severely injured. He later killed himself from the guilt and because apparently the parents of the other guys who died wanted to sue for wrongful death and the university kicked him out.
Also later came out the 4 of them gang raped these two girls at the university at another party. There were rumors it wasn’t an accident and they’d all intended to die in the crash because they’d filmed what they’d done and some how someone got the video and was going to or already had sent it to the police.
Honestly, they got what was coming to them, they basically never faced any consequences growing up, typical rich kid that always had mommy and daddy rushing to fix whatever problem they caused, even if it was just to cover their own asses. Not to mention one was really weird with his younger sisters, a lot of people thought he was doing something to them at home. I wasn’t close with them, but a few friends of mine were because of sports and anytime their brother was around they seemed like entirely different people. They were decent people, a little spoiled because their family was wealthy, but it amazed me they came from the same house as their brother.
I hate this question because it implies there was only one.
It was pretty much the entire town ±5 years of my age.
When I look up crimes happening in my home town the perpetrator is always around my age. Doesn’t surprise me one bit. They were all evil.
Examples: Axe murder, explosives, setting spouse on fire, setting house on fire, theft, drugs. Recently there was a car crash that killed two 20-year olds. The driver was around my age.
I wasn’t harassed daily by this girl. We were cool in grade school then all of a sudden in JR High she would sneer at me if I acknowledged her or crossed paths. She had a bad home life, I didn’t. I think it had something to do with that.
Anyway, I moved back home after graduating college. I saw her in a Cicis Pizza with 2 rugrats under 5 and a dude that look at least 10 years older than her. She was pregnant (knocked up by that guy, probably) and hissing at those kids to sit down and shut up. She looked miserable 😁
What gets me the most is somehow despite everyone knowing how he treated me, knowing he didn’t stop in the school, he dragged it to college and even days in town where we just crossed paths and even broke my moped in his own admittance to try and get me to crash on the way home (he took out every screw on the faring and loosened the steering nut. I forget the exact term but when I got it checked out as it felt off, apparently one big turn and I’d be eating tarmac)
One of them went to jail for sleeping with a minor. The other ended up marrying the daughter of a bigwig in Johnson and Johnson. Sometimes the wicked prosper.
Died of old age in his sleep, which is better than he deserved. He was not well-liked by much of anyone. It’s been a better part of a decade, and I hear his grave still gets regularly shat on.
Older bully spent my freshman year giving me shit on the bus. Two years later I applied for a job. He took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. Three months later he left me with a pretty sweet gig for teenage me.
He came into the bar where I was managing with his newly married wife and when I went by their table to check on them he apologized very sincerely introduced me to his wife and even told her how much of a bad guy he was to me back in high school. He took full responsibility and it was a very nice gesture
She got a heavy cocaine, heroin and sex addiction, went full Bipolar Manic, refused to get help, went homeless after her parents had enough, blew up in weight, nearly ODed, acquired 6 different STDs, suffered a heart attack on the streets at 25, was involuntarily hospitalized, and now browses Tinder looking 45 at 27, WAY past prime, trying to find her perfect Lesbian match and taking care of two Kids as Trailer Park White Trash, while working at Home Depot.
I’m transferring to University with honors as a dual Major, likely to attend either medical or law school.. with my own place, money in the bank, and more friends than I ever thought possible.
One is a drug addict with an extensive criminal history. The other seems to have a normal life- married, stable job, kid. Although he does look like he’s on steroids. Ironically he married a fat woman which is exactly what he used to bully me about.
Became a state senator and was his party’s favorite to be their nominee for governor. He spent a lot of time crusading against Covid vaccines and mask mandates. Died of covid.
Oddly enough I just ran into him at a bar yesterday while I was visiting my home town.
He’s worked nothing but dead end jobs and has drank his youth away. Told him everything that I had done over the last 20 years and he seemed very envious. I actually hung out with him a little bit and bought him a few rounds. Eventually he started crying, apologized for how he treated me in highschool. Told him that it was part of what made me me. Gave him my number and told him if he ever needed to talk or was in my neck of the woods to give me a call.

The 2 on the passenger side died on impact, rear driver side passenger died later at the hospital. Driver was the only one who lived, severely injured. He later killed himself from the guilt and because apparently the parents of the other guys who died wanted to sue for wrongful death and the university kicked him out.
Also later came out the 4 of them gang raped these two girls at the university at another party. There were rumors it wasn’t an accident and they’d all intended to die in the crash because they’d filmed what they’d done and some how someone got the video and was going to or already had sent it to the police.
Honestly, they got what was coming to them, they basically never faced any consequences growing up, typical rich kid that always had mommy and daddy rushing to fix whatever problem they caused, even if it was just to cover their own asses. Not to mention one was really weird with his younger sisters, a lot of people thought he was doing something to them at home. I wasn’t close with them, but a few friends of mine were because of sports and anytime their brother was around they seemed like entirely different people. They were decent people, a little spoiled because their family was wealthy, but it amazed me they came from the same house as their brother.

It was pretty much the entire town ±5 years of my age.
When I look up crimes happening in my home town the perpetrator is always around my age. Doesn’t surprise me one bit. They were all evil.
Examples: Axe murder, explosives, setting spouse on fire, setting house on fire, theft, drugs. Recently there was a car crash that killed two 20-year olds. The driver was around my age.
I wasn’t harassed daily by this girl. We were cool in grade school then all of a sudden in JR High she would sneer at me if I acknowledged her or crossed paths. She had a bad home life, I didn’t. I think it had something to do with that.
Anyway, I moved back home after graduating college. I saw her in a Cicis Pizza with 2 rugrats under 5 and a dude that look at least 10 years older than her. She was pregnant (knocked up by that guy, probably) and hissing at those kids to sit down and shut up. She looked miserable 😁
One is dead. The other became a born again Christian and tried to reconnect. I declined.
I absolutely battered him when I was 20.. he’d kicked me bloody around the playground when I was 13.

I forget the exact term but when I got it checked out as it felt off, apparently one big turn and I’d be eating tarmac)

I’m transferring to University with honors as a dual Major, likely to attend either medical or law school.. with my own place, money in the bank, and more friends than I ever thought possible.

Became a state senator and was his party’s favorite to be their nominee for governor. He spent a lot of time crusading against Covid vaccines and mask mandates. Died of covid.
She was recently referred to my work (homelessness services). I pretended not to know her.
Oddly enough I just ran into him at a bar yesterday while I was visiting my home town.
He’s worked nothing but dead end jobs and has drank his youth away. Told him everything that I had done over the last 20 years and he seemed very envious. I actually hung out with him a little bit and bought him a few rounds. Eventually he started crying, apologized for how he treated me in highschool. Told him that it was part of what made me me. Gave him my number and told him if he ever needed to talk or was in my neck of the woods to give me a call.
