What if, one day, Cuba was no longer Communist, and was more of a “regular” country?

What if Cuba democratized and Communism fell there?? I am not talking about how or when it would fall, but more how the world would adjust to a non Communist Cuba??

By “regular counrty” you mean a vassle state of the US and willing participant in the manroe doctrine?Like elsalvador?

Cuba being communist or not doesn’t make any difference to the world. The cold war is over.
Cuba being communist was always a thorn in US hegemony or manroe doctrine, but other than that, it literally doesn’t make any difference for anyone else.

Cuba isn’t as bad as the us makes it out to be. They’re better off not having American companies raping their land.

It becomes a fiefdom of the US and a vacation spot like all the smaller islands around the US?

Jesus, I’m just hoping that the United States becomes a regular country again someday.

Cuba would become the jewel of the Caribbean again, like it was before the commies took over. It would become a gambling destination for the wealthy, like Monte Carlo or Macau. And a major cruise ship destination for the middle class. More importantly, regular Cuban citizens would finally be free again, to pursue their own dreams and start businesses and prosper, lifting the standard of living of everyone.

Many Florida residents of Cuban descent have property claims in Cuba to be resolved.

Outside the USA who has an embargo on Cuba, it is already a regular country.

You have sovereign risks associated with investing there but not much difference to some African countries.

In the context of its treatment of Cuba, the USA is not “regular”.

Like in the former Soviet republics, democracy would be destroyed and peoples lives would be shattered. Rich oligarchs would appear that finance and control society.

The real change would be for the Cuban people not the rest of the world
