Say the US becomes two separate countries. Which one is wealthier? Which one could succeed on their own? Red States or Blue States?
What if the US broke apart, Blue States versus Red States?

Blue. Blue states also contain a majority of the naval power and have fully functional infastructure to support themselves. None of the red states do with exception of Texas. Texas is the only red state that has a positive GDP, all the rest are parasites to the blue. Blue states have greater international support and align with world progressive views. Vast majority of the Red states do not. Red states also push facsist and often viewed as “bigoted” ideals be it race, color, wealth status or religious views.
I doubt it’d actually be a shooting war, and it would really be more legal wrangling to exit the union, similar to the Soviet Union breaking up.
The unions of blue states would likely become more like post colonial Europe, with strong social safety nets and universal healthcare.
The red states would become Third World s-holes run by religious fanatics of Y’all Quaeda. literacy would drop down to below 10%, and things like incest would become even more common. Poor people would have their organs involuntarily harvested to pay financial debt. wealthy individuals would be able to obtain licenses to hunt humans. Rape would no longer be considered a crime, and if it was only the victims would be prosecuted. teslas would be the official car.
The human beings who live in those states are not all of one ideology/political persuasion, so that would be a messy ‘solution’ to some people not being willing to share/bargain/compromise, etc.

to the best of my knowledge red states on average recieve more taxes from the federal government and blue states pay more.
So if there was a split, red states would run out of money? welfare? the things federal taxes pay for?
And blue states could lower their taxes a bit since they are saving the money that would have gone to red states. Or keep taxes the same and use the money for improving infrastructure or buying red states?
It would last 10 minutes. Team red takes control of highways and bridges leading to cities and team blue is done. Strategically they are already surrounded. No supplies and no food or water. And besides strategically they are weak both mentally and physically. It’s not remotely a fair fight.
Assuming it splits into red states/blue states peacefully, Blue America will be better off by quite a bit. Blue states lead in a bunch of economic indicators.

If it comes down to a fight, things get very complicated very quickly, since most states are not pure red or pure blue. The typical pattern is to have blue cities surrounded by red countryside. I suspect the fight comes down to which side is able to take control of more of the military. A lot of military bases are deep in red territory, so in a race to seize the big guns, I think the red side has the advantage.
Blue states would really be city states, there aren’t many blue states, but rather blue cities.
Blue doesn’t produce anything when it comes to food and material.
It’d be rough for the Cities
Most Blue states are only Blue because of the largest cities. It would be a few city states trying to survive with no infrastructure, eventually the people would wander out of the city states and try to violently attack the red surrounding them. This might work because of numbers but the red has the most guns and bullets and terrain and knowledge so I think it unlikely.
There are no blue states.
Just heavily populated blue cities
