What If We’ve Already Died and This Is the Afterlife?

r/

Ever get that weird feeling that something’s off? What if we already died in some version of reality, and this existence is like a weird limbo, or simulation, or punishment?

Sometimes I feel like this world is just too strange to be real. Like we’re stuck in a loop.

What if this is our second chance and we don’t even know it?

Doesn’t matter, live life to the fullest regardless. Life’s an illusion anyway but it’s a damn good one.

    What would be worse?

A firey pit of burning sulphur for eternity?

    Or…

A late stage capitalist dystopia where things may get better, or worse, or crab sideways.. but there’s always hope..

So we push through, while our body and mind begin to fail, while we exchange our “happy” moments for survival, while being shown nepo babies not enduring the same struggle, but we have hope!

Hope that one day, if we work hard enough or luck out, we could potentially get to have that experience.

We see retirees living their golden years after a life of hard work and hope that if we save enough, maybe we’ll get our turn.

There’s a lump in our body that shouldn’t be there. The doctor says that with a strict regime and enough money, we may be fine. We hope they’re right.

We’re in the hospital surrounded by the loved ones left. Most of our hopes have turned to shit as we breathe our last but we see the hope in our families eyes.

Hope that we make it through, hope that they can show us our grand kids, hope that they get an inheritance…

    Or

Hope that we burn in hell.

I have this thought that maybe at the precise moment of death everyone else observes it and you are dead but from your perspective nothing happend if that makes any sense (eg ppl see you hit by a car and die while you almost get hit by a car and carry on with life)
