I mean the first impression when you hear that a woman has been single for so long? Yay or nay? And what are the reasons for your opinion?
What impression do adult men have of adult women who have been single for 5,7,8 years?

I’m a 29 year old virgin so I really don’t feel anything other than “I hope she is excelling at the things she enjoys”. I would hope she has a cat, because I don’t and I want to hang out and slowly gain the trust of her cat.
But otherwise I don’t have any strong feelings or assumptions with just the information that shes been single for a while
There are too many reasons for that for it to mean anything to me
Maybe the same thing when women learn a guy had been single for that long? As a red flag
Almost no one will care save for perhaps a curiosity as to why
I figure , she has her reasons, otherwise it’s not my problem or my business.
They why is more important than the length.
Fine by me, it means that she’s not going to be clingy, is independent, and is emotionally mature.
Depends what she did in that time. If she was racking up “experiences”, that’s a nope. If she was just out there living her life, who cares?
Honestly, wouldn’t give me any pause.
Usually it’s not good. I mean this in the most sincere way possible.
If she’s good looking, then it’s even worse.
Why?
You mean to tell me a hot woman has been single for that long, what’s wrong with her?
Is she unnecessarily picky?
Is she unmarriageable? Unable to pair-bond due to previous relationships that were HER choices?
RED FLAG.
My wife had been single for 6 years when I met her. Best relationship I’ve ever had.
Probably emotionally healthy lol
It happens. Romantic culture is very strange atm.
It wouldn’t give me any particular impression.
Gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers.
Depends heavily on why. If I even know why.
I’m going to wonder why. I won’t rush to judge, but that is longer than I’d expect.
I’ll hear her out, I also may or may not accept her reasoning depending on the answer.
If it’s not a religious woman or virgin. It’s like if no one wants You in your 20s (keep the person). Why would someone want You in your 30s or more. The question is why didnt u have a partner un your primer version (young and beautiful).
None
If it comes up in conversation I might ask why, but I can’t think of much that would make me feel negatively about her.
Yay, to me it shows she is taking time to heal from the past and not just jumping back into a relationship haphazardly.
No impression whatsoever.
Woman picky. Man must be gay.
I like it. It tells me she’s grounded, can be alone, and would rather be alone than lower her self or her standards. I go years between relationships, and I don’t trust people who can’t be single for any period of time as I’ve found they’re that way for the same reason that they cheat and avoid addressing issues in relationships and often prefer superficialities to spiritual depth–because they’re uncomfortable sitting in silence with themselves and their own emotions.
Curiosity. The why matters so much. There are good reasons to be single for that long and bad ones.
Good reasons: too busy, wasn’t in the right headspace for a while, needed to focus on family and/or career, haven’t bet someone worth not being single for.
Bad reasons: wanted to explore her options, party have fun, “find herself,” (a crazy year or season is one thing, a crazy decade…no thanks). Been locked up, can’t find anyone dumb enough to commit.
I would want to know why. As long as there is a reasonable explanation it wouldn’t bother me. I mean life happens there could be medial things that go on. Maybe after covid you just had a hard time getting back into the dating scene. Maybe you were just too focused on your career or didn’t want to get tied down to an area you didn’t want to stay in.
In east asian culture. Unmarried women after a certain age are considered a red flag.
In the office setting most people understand that unmarried women are troublesome. Even married women understand this
I don’t do impressions
I couldn’t care less how long a woman has been single.
“Probably the last guy made her swear off men that long”
Im glad she took time to be single and get ready to be out and meeting others again. Ive been single and out of the market for 12 years and have just clocked back in. Sometimes theres an excuse, i was also busy.
Usually these days it is about them setting themselves up especially with a career and working towards being financially independent and working towards getting a place to live. Same as men
Does not matter its the chemistry between the 2 of you that’s important.
She’s been sleeping around.
Well in honesty if I can see her there’s an initial thought related to how she looks.
If she’s attractive I assume she’s either single by choice (focusing on her career/education) or she’s an absolute nightmare.
They’re minding their own business
I believe that those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. And I’m living in a glass mansion right now, so…
So many reasons for it that people can’t just assume.
Working on career, in school, working on mental health, working on physical health, dealing with inner work, depression, anxiety, mean person, extreme expectations… list goes on
Some are dealbreakers, some are green flags. This is just a general question to one that needs a complex answer
Too little information to have any opinion. I would expect her to keep talking.
I assume this is for women that are physically attractive enough?
I suspect she has standards so high as to be somewhat delusional. Or she is ace.
Respectfully all the wrong reasons👌
