I went to my cousins wedding yesterday and it was beautiful. Some of the things made me say “yep, that’s like him to do” like during the reception they pulled up college football on the screen, and then was the food.
The food was salad, fries, macaroni, cheeseburger sliders, chicken tenders, and fruit. The food tasted great. In the middle of eating, one of his friends walked up to the microphone to announce an ice cream truck pulled up too. They specialized in making crazy good sundaes. Then they had a whole dessert bar that I didn’t touch because I couldn’t hardly breathe it felt like.
A buddy’s wedding a few years ago had a taco truck cater and there were coolers filled with beer.
My wedding was having a guy I know grill a bunch of chicken and other good foods and we had country sides.
What is the best wedding good you’ve ever had?

Cheeseburgers and chicken tendies sounds like the most American wedding ever haha
We were at wedding last year and they served veal.
And it was delicious!
I’m going to be that unpopular opinion. My wedding was entirely vegan and I still dream about it. Dishes were ravioli with mock meat sauce, curried tofu with peanut noodles, and portobello risotto. Had 8 passed hors doeuvres and an array of bite sized pastries ranging from brownies to cupcakes to cookies to cheesecake. My biggest regret of the night was filling up too quickly
My own actually! Instead of chicken and veg we went for Cumberland sausage and mash with a black pudding terrine for starters! It was awesome.
I was invited to a very traditional Indian wedding. I was warned which dishes would kill me so I avoided those. The food was amazing. I have been enjoying Indian restaurants now thanks to that wedding. I also learned there are no lines and keep your elbows up when getting food. Those little old Indian ladies will take you out.
My cousin married the daughter of a former Goldman Sachs c suite exec. the food was amazing. lamb, halibut, actual jamon from Spain. I can’t remember all the dishes they had but when daddy drops upper 6 figures on the wedding, the food is gonna be good.
Went to an Italian wedding. Brides father owned a local Italian grocery store. Good friends with the wedding venue owner that also owned the (separate)best steakhouse in our area. When we walked into the first room, it was filled with cured meats, cheeses, chef rolling sushi, chef making risotto, raw bar towers, waiters carrying around hot appetizers, too many things to list. 1.5hrs of that then we were brought into the dining room. 5-6courses, I don’t remember. Salads, soup, pasta….My main, ordered at the table not ahead of time, was Chilean sea bass with a lobster cream sauce that had 2 perfectly shelled claws and lobster tail. Full bottles of Italian wine on every table. After that, we were brought back into the first room for an endless amount of Italian pastries, biscotti, cookies and mini cakes. Chef making sundaes. Of course there was a cappuccino bar. Then there was wedding cake. I have never eaten so much in my life.
A brisket bar with all the fixin’
Man the ice cream truck is a crazy good idea
Gigantic half Indian half White Wedding. Good ass Indian food was served, they weren’t fucking around.
Went to a wedding in the Philippines a few years ago, and they served lechon (a whole roasted pig). Man that was good.
I feel like wedding caterers intentionally choose foods that are difficult to keep on a fork and leave unremovable stains on expensive clothing.
The best was my friend’s wedding that had a stir fry bar. You got to pick out all of your ingredients and then there were several chefs there to stir fry it all for you. It was so delicious and fun for people.
The bridesmaid threesome was quite delicious
My own
We had it at the rooftop bar of a pizzeria and instead of overcooked steak and unseasoned tilapia, we had a bunch of pizzas and Italian food served buffet style.
I had a 15 person COVID wedding in my parent’s yard. My favourite food truck (Perogy Boyz) came out and parked up in the alley. It was perfect.
Perogy poutine, tex mex, original. They had brie dessert option too, but I did also make a brownie parfait for dessert
(“Special” brownies available for anyone interested).
Pulled pork served at midnight. The dinner was also great, but those pulled pork buns when the dinner was starting to be digested were something else.
We had tacos, barbecue, and gourmet hot dogs catered by our friend, the locally famous Chiliman.
Instead of a cake, my friend did “ Fire Donuts “ which were donut holes tossed in a pan of melted butter, cinnamon, sugar, and brandy sauce served over vanillla ice cream. It was ferociously delicious .
It was an afternoon tea for the reception (wedding in the UK). It just was not filling. The sandwiches were cold, the cakes were nothing to write home about. The best wedding foods I’ve eaten have been roast dinners.
BBQ ribs….
My wedding, I still think about the bread. We had fresh bread from a local bakery that uses the old style sourdough technique (some sort of old wheat bread?). It was incredible. To top it off, they had butter with black truffle salt. It was so good I asked if they could box it up for later and they did with a heart on the box! We had an additional slice of cake and bread later in the evening. We also had fresh salmon and potatoes. It was truly delicious. We also had a ribeye that was… not as good as the other things! It was kind of a gamble seeing as it was a destination wedding. The next morning we had the most amazing Belgian waffle from the same place!
My cousin had a paella pan the size of a baby pool.
An Italian wedding with a Ziti pasta, garlic knots, salad, and some canolis and coffee for desert separate from the cake.
My sister had the local Italian restaurant cater. It was family style so they brought bowls of various pastas to each table. The salad they made was so good that people were handing the staff 10-20 dollars for extra.
My brother in law’s sister’s wedding. $13k for the bar tab. I did my part by killing 10 Long Island Iced teas while my best friend killed 15. They also had a lot of staple deserts, a roasted pig, prime rib, various chicken dishes, various sea food, various vegetables, pigs in a blanket, etc.
