I’ve been leaning far more conservative since Covid, most of my friends are still fairly liberal (some have gone off the deep end since trump got elected) and I’m constantly trying to help them see the truth of both sides (Fox News is just as bad as cnn for example). Some of them are pulling their hair out about the immaterial comment about people being kicked off Medicaid. It’s exhausting trying to get to the truth of what he meant. Any help?

The “meat and potatoes” behind Vance’s “immaterial” comment is that no one who is qualified for existing benefits who is working 20 hours a weel, is in job training or doing volunteer work will lose their benefits. The only people being kicked off Medicaid are able bodied adults who refuse to work and illegals who never qualified for benefits in the first place.
Refusing to pay benefits to people who don’t qualify for the program is not “kicking people off the program”

Conservatives should lean in to this argument. It’s a winner.
No reasonable American wants our tax dollars going to able-bodied healthy people who refuse to even look for a job.
