I stopped fully removing all my body hair a couple of years ago. I just have extremely sensitive skin and have tried every method and have never not been irritated. Now I trim some of it with clippers and the rest (legs) just are hairy. I used to feel a little self conscious about it but I don’t anymore.
Used to feel like I had to shave everything to feel pretty. Now I do it when I want to only, not because I think I should. I only shave my underarms when I’m wearing sleeveless tops and I only shave my legs when I wear shorts.
Way less pressure, way more comfort.
I eemove it all via waxing as I like the way it feels not to have any hair. I have some issues with my skin and it’s easier to manage with no hair.
I shave the same areas I’ve shaved since adolescence! Legs and armpits.
I’ve added eyebrow grooming and plucking the occasional chin hair.
I’m half Sicilian and half Irish. I’m a pale ghost with coarse, thick, black hair. I had to shave daily and I had to go all the way to mid-thigh. I’d have stubble by the end of the day. I put up with this for decades. Tried epilation, bleaching, waxing, and just ignoring it.
But I like how smooth legs feel and I love the way water feels on hairless legs. And I have resented my rapid body hair growth with all the time it took to shave it, not to mention all the ingrown hairs and painful goosebumps on fresh-shaved legs.
So I finally paid for laser hair removal. And I love it. It’s worth every dime and I’m really putting my money where my mouth is since it’s taking me far more sessions than any other client either of my 2 laser techs have ever dealt with.
My armpits and bikini area are hair-free and have been for two years now. I did not do the full area down there- just enough to wear a swimsuit without needing board shorts if I didn’t have time to shave. I got my arms done only once- just to reduce the number of hairs, not eliminate them. I like the way they look now- normal. I did 3 total sessions on the backs of my hands and my knuckles. Because those I did want hairless. My legs are a sick joke. I’m on my 16th session. My last session was at a high enough joule strength to make me sweat, swear, and leave nail marks on the stress balls. Still getting a classic reaction. My techs are baffled. BUT- in between sessions I don’t have to shave. If I have to pay for that for another decade it will still be worth it to me. Fortunately there is a lot less hair than there was. I think I’ll get to be hair-free on my legs soon. I absolutely love it.
I just shave when i think its necessary. In the winter, you’ll never catch me shaving my legs. I don’t care.
I used to shave everything, but a few years ago I was like “who the fuck am I actually doing this for” and realized it wasn’t me and that I wanna stop following these bullshit expectations that are hoisted on women. So I stopped shaving completely. In the beginning it was really difficult. I felt ugly and gross and multiple times men straight up insulted me on the street for it. But I got used to it and now it’s chill.
I get laser hair removal and love it.
I like the look and feel of being smooth all over. Not cheap but it’s worth it.
I’m ethnically middle eastern, so I had a lot of thick dark hair. I realized I was spending 30 mins a day shaving and wasting water.
One day I went to the beach in the morning and realized my legs had a 5 o’clock shadow, but it was only 10 am. That was the moment I decided to do laser hair removal, and I ended up doing practically my entire body, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made! The money I spent on myself was so worth it and I love the results. I cannot recommend it enough!
Only do it when I want to
I’m hairy and I love it. For me it has nothing to do with trying to go against expectations. I legitimately do not care.
If I’m being honest, I wouldn’t consider myself a feminist, just someone who does what they want as long as it’s not hurting others.
I’m lazy. Winter long hair, summer short. That’s ok for me. 😅
I shaved my legs, on a regular basis, until I was around 30-ish years old — because it was the social norm. After that, I’d shave them whenever I was going to wear a dress or shorts. Over time it was basically just, eh to hell with it. It’s been at least 10 years since I last shaved my legs. My leg hair is very light and sparse — from a distance, you can’t even tell that I don’t shave my legs.
I do shave my arm pits once a week. The hair grows in dark and thick and I don’t like the way it looks when I’m wearing sleeveless tops.
I remove ALL body hair below the neck
I love feeling smooth all over. I usually just epilate, but I’m thinking of getting those home IPL device.
It’s so routine now. My body hair is dark and I’ve been shaving my legs, armpits, and bikini line since I was 12. The bikini line was necessary because no underwear/bikini bottoms could contain my full bush.
I use to hate how tedious it was to remove it, but at this point, I’m shaving every time I bathe, and it takes all of 10 minutes because I’m way less meticulous than I was as a teen.
Armpits most often as I tend to wear strappy tops. Legs when they’re likely to be on show, so more often in the summer months.
I used to do ‘down there’ sometimes because I knew that’s how my partner preferred it (just to be clear, he never made me do it and wouldn’t complain or anything if I hadn’t). The only trouble with that was that I cannot bare the idea of waxing, just the thought of it seems awful to me. I can just about bare to have my eyebrows waxed and even that is a rarity. So I would shave. And then be lovely and smooth for maybe a day if I was lucky before it got stubbly and itched like hell. Generally I would just keep it trimmed short unless it was a special occasion lol.
He passed earlier this year and tbh now I just go with whatever I feel like when I’m in the shower. I’ll still to armpits regularly, in the current weather I’m doing legs pretty regularly, but I haven’t trimmed ‘down there’ in months and I really couldn’t care less! Lol
Have been doing it since I was 14, more obsessively back then. But now that I’m much older, I don’t care for social norms so much. To be fair, I have light colored and very fine hair growth.
I used to be mocked for my body hair when I was younger so I kept myself shaved. Nowadays, I just do it because having hair doesn’t feel right.
It’s about the same as it has been since middle school/high school. I shave my arms, armpits, legs and pubic area when I feel like it and I don’t care about other people’s opinion on it.
I used to shave my legs and arm pits any time they would be exposed. I never figured out a way to not get itchy red bumps hours after shaving my legs and I tried everything over the course of almost 20 years. It got to where I never wore dresses or shorts, even in the summer, because of how they looked. Now I shave my pits because I prefer that and just take a beard trimmer to my legs and pubic hair if they will be exposed. I ran out of damns about leg hair several years ago and just rock “day 2” looking legs.
