What is your worst period story?

Many years ago, I got cramps so bad that I was laying on the ground begging my ex to kill me. He just yelled at me and told me to get up ….wouldn’t even get me some water as it was also a hot day.

The most embarrassing was in elementary school. Bled through my clothes during lunch, freaked out when I got up and saw blood over the seat. Ran crying into the bathroom. A sweet munch lady tried to follow me to ask me if I was okay and knew what was happening, but I was upset and kept trying to make her go away.

Most painful was on a birth control. I had super heavy bleeding for 2 weeks and was in so much pain I thought a cyst might have ruptured or something. Had me doubled over at work.

Another tie for the worst was when I bled for 36 days straight on a different birth control and when I tried contacting a provider for help was blown off like I was when I was in excruciating pain during the 2 week period and told “it can take 3 months to adjust to birth control. Come back if nothing changes by then”

Well I wouldn’t say the worst but I think about it from time to time cuz it was ridiculous. I was trying to take a tampon out, sitting in a public bathroom stall and somehow the angle I went about it caused the tamp to fling out and upwards and smacked against the hoodie I was wearing, and splattered it with blood :/ lol did not enjoy trying to wash the blood off my sweat shirt in the bathroom sink!

I was a teenage and it was a school night…but I got period pain so bad I couldn’t help but curl up and cry. Had to have a hot water bottle but I was constantly moving in discomfort and my parents let me stay off school the next day. It was so heavy I kept bleeding through my pads and onto my clothes. It made me feel horrible and disgusting.

Even sat in a very very hot bath for like 2 hours just to subside the pain that day

Man, being in high school and bleeding through my pants 🙁
    Those times were rough.
I had a heavy flow and didn’t really know how to handle it at that age.

Had a bad reaction to an herbal remedy for cramps and wound up passing out and in the ER

Before going on BC, my period never stopped. I was bleeding for something like 11 days, had 3 days off, and then back to bleeding heavy again.

I bled through a pad, tampon, my underwear, and shorts rather quickly… onto a white blanket in the vacation house we were staying at

I had an outrageous crush on a boy about 3 years older than me who went to my church, and his little sister was my age (13) and was my best friend. I was starting the night at her house and wearing white shorts (because of course I was) and my period started but I didn’t realize until her mother kindly pulled me aside and I realized that the entire front area of my shorts was a blood tsunami. It was literally my third period and I had no idea what to do. My friend hadn’t started hers yet, but her mom had gone into menopause, so they had no supplies. The dad went and bought supplies (he really was and is a great guy) for me while I hid in the bathroom. The boy I had a crush on didn’t actually seem to register any of this and went and listened to music for the rest of the night.

I have always been a very light 2-3 day period. Found out my 7 year partner was having an affair.. I went into crisis mode and didn’t get my period for a few months. I assumed I was hitting menopause and stressed out anyway so not super concerned about my monthly.. 5 months later it came back, in the worst way possible – heavy, hard, stayed for 3 weeks and was dark black in color. Stress is insane for hormones.

I used to be a full time professional horse rider and coach. I was coaching late one night, alone, the last person working. I had clients from 5pm – 10pm with no breaks, and at about 7:30pm I felt the telltale signs.

I ended up with the heaviest most spectacular first day of a period of my life, and bled through everything. I ended up with my coat wrapped round my waist, freezing my arse off, and utterly miserable.

Getting my first period was a traumatic event in and of itself. And pretty much from that point until I started birth control in college they were long heavy painful and irregular.

I wasn’t allowed to wear tampons and we all know how pads can slip and slide.

I was a junior in high school and it was around the middle of the day and something just fell off. I tried to take a very nonchalant look only to realize I had bled through everything and then some.

I asked to go to the office because I was feeling bad and tried the old jacket around the waist trick. I called my mom but she wouldn’t come and get me. So I basically had to spend the rest of the school day just rocking my period pants.

And then the next day my mom scolded me for bleeding all over my pants.

My first period I didn’t expect it and bled through my pants on the hygienist chair at the dentist. I didn’t even know about periods except that one girl puked when she got hers. I also puked with my first one.

i had a 33 day long period. every day was heavy. had to change my pad every hour. i ended up getting severe anemia. 1 deciliter away from needing a blood transfusion

I was 9 when my period started and it didn’t make it easy for me. Bled through everything. Would bleed for two to three weeks straight. Doctors wouldn’t do anything for me. Midol would make my cramps worse.

I went to an amusement park with my family one time, just trying to be a kid. I bled through two pairs of pants, one of those pairs within an hour of putting them on. We eventually had to go home within a couple hours because I didn’t have another pair of pants to change into.

Luckily my period regulated itself as I got older and it has never been as bad as it was those 1-2 years when it first started.

I got on the depo shot a month before I got married and I bled 24/7 for 7 months straight. I was just constantly on my period, with all period symptoms, heavy heavy bleeding, anemic and so tired. It was the worst way to start off the honeymoon period for sure.

my 7th grade ela teacher had a sofa in her classroom which ofc was where my assigned seat was. I had a really irregular period before I started birth control so I didn’t know it was coming until I stood up looking for my pencil to be greeted with blood on the sofa & my pants.
I sat right back down so nobody would see & tied my jacket around my waist & as I stood up again to go tell my tecaher I slid my book over the blood on the sofa so no one would see.
My teacher gave me a pad & bathroom pads but waited until class change to deal with the sofa so that I wouldn’t be more embarrassed. She was awesome.

When I was a teenager (maybe 18?), my periods were VERY heavy. I was starting a job as a PA at a company that had an office in a very posh building with the likes of companies like Citibank, Roche, BP, etc. I was bleeding like crazy and had to change pads/go to the bathroom constantly, so the next day I had to wear adult nappies. It lasted like 2 weeks. Def not fun!

I was in the middle of an important meeting when I suddenly noticed a period stain. No jacket to cover it, my phone was dead, and my cramps were getting worse. I just tried to stay calm until I could finally rush to the bathroom. Honestly, it was embarrassing, but at least I survived.

last week I was at work and an hour in I got cramps so bad I genuinely considered that my appendix could have been bursting. I couldn’t stand, I almost passed out and I threw up. But I work at a restaurant and I couldn’t get anyone to cover for me so I had to stay at work. The cramps lasted my entire 8 hour shift and I couldn’t sleep that night because they were still so bad.

All I’ll say is that amusement park water rides and pads don’t mix. Especially when it’s only your second period ever and you totally overestimate how much your pad can absorb on day 1.

I was walking down the street in NYC, 8 days after my period was supposed to start, figuring I had just missed it since I’m never late. And yes, I took a pregnancy test, which was negative.

I realized people were staring at me and some were making weird gestures but I was zoning out and didn’t pay attention.

After about 10 blocks, two girls ran up to me and told me what happened.

Turned out my period had come, probably when I was leaving work, and I was walking with a giant splotch of blood in a midi off white dress and blood pouring down my white tights. Like, my lower half was covered like something out of Carrie.

I ran into a bar, ordered a drink, and then used their bathroom to take off the tights and wrap my blazer around my front before cabbing 60 blocks home. Nightmare.

When I tried a new birth control. I was in agonizing pain, like “ please kill me now” kind of pain. I had blood clots the size of golf balls. I missed two weeks of school, and lost ten pounds. Never again.

My worst period story happened when I was in school in class every body called me Carrie from Stephen King

Only woman attending a training for managers in a tech company and definitely the youngest attendee. So of course my period shows up two weeks early. Luckily my dress had a pattern in mostly dark colors and I was able to clean off most of the blood, so you would need to have been looking to find the stain.

when in the hospital for not period related issues I started my period & apparently was asking for pads too often & was interrogated as if I was building a weapon out of pads. anyways they sent a obgyn to talk to me about birth control methods to help with my period, chose the pill & one morning older male nurse was administering my meditations & was so confused on how the birth control worked & started asking me & I was like idk man I’ve never had birth control before your the medical professional.😭

My first period. I had cramps and also ate bad seafood, so I was vomiting and I had diarrhea:D

  27. So_Call_Me_Maddie Avatar

I’ll start with the most embarrassing story. At 19, on my second date, the guy was showing off his brand-new car, and I was along for the ride. We had a fun afternoon, but when I got out, I realized I’d bled through my underwear, skirt, and all over his seat. I was absolutely mortified! To his credit, he was totally understanding. After some thought and searching, we found a detailer and took his car there. Of course, I paid for it, and thankfully, they got the stain out completely. I broke up with him after that… I just couldn’t.

My worst period story happened at the age of 30 when my body suddenly decided it wanted to become iron anemic. Three days into my period, I was many shades paler than usual, couldn’t get up without a migraine, and could hardly function. If it hadn’t been for my husband, I probably wouldn’t be here to type this.

There’s been a few where I can barely stand up and I barf so can’t pick just one.

The first time I got a birth control implant, I bled for pretty much 3 weeks solid. No cramps, thankfully – I’m not a cramper – but I was sitting on towels everywhere I went, including work. I was POURING.

High school. I was in so much pain that I called my mom at work and explained. She understood and excused me without incident. I got in my car and cried all the way home. Then I got out of the car and couldn’t stand up straight. I literally crawled into the house. I remember it vividly because my dad, who was never sick, was actually home with a cold. He met me at the door and said only, “Mom called.” I couldn’t even form a reply. I ate all the Advil I could tolerate and curled up on a heating pad for twelve hours.

    That was bad.

I was changing for swim practice after school when there was a fire alarm, the gym teacher yelled at us to get out immediately since it was not a drill and during dismissal. I had already changed into my suit and had to walk outside and wait as it snowed, and since it was real and during dismissal it was crazy chaotic and long.
When we all were safe to arrive back inside I was one of the first few to get to the pool deck because I had been changed. I was then notified by a coach that I had blood dripping all down my legs and was leaving a trail. I hadn’t know I had my period, hadn’t used anything and was walking around for the last thirty or so minutes in just my swim suit. I was mortified. They had to close the pool deck to sanitize and I’m honestly not even sure how long the trail I left was.
