When I take extra hard steps, I can feel my tits bounce, it makes me feel good because they aren’t big lol.
Also, runnning my fingers through my soft silky smooth hair.
It’s part of who I am as a human. I don’t need anything else to make me feel like one, the same I don’t need anything else to make me feel like a Black woman. I just am and do.
When I wear a dress with a khimar (it’s a long flowy islamic head cover) I feel like a literal princess lol I love seeing the fabric swish and flow around when I move, I feel so pretty in it
Hm, I got confused by the question. Like nothing in my experience is universal for all the women, and nothing is unique for women only.
I do not feel like a woman. I know I am a woman, and everything I feel I feel as a woman. None of my feelings or experiences make me less or more of a woman. It is all just me.
I don’t know that there is anything that makes me FEEL like woman….it’s just….what I am. An undeniable truth, like how I am Black, it just….IS.
Now, there are certainly moment I feel more feminine, like twirling a flirty dress. Painting my nails. That cute little bounce thing that my ponytail does when I’m walking.
And there are times when I feel very connected to other women, like when I go get my hair braided at the shop. Seeing all those women with their hair in different stages of completion, all talking to each other and connecting and being….girly lol.
There are however moments when I’m REMINDED that I’m a woman.
-Being sexually assaulted by my brother and being told to shut up about it resulting in every other little girl in our family to be assaulted by him for years
-being stared at and hit on by old men or them trying to set me up with their sons/nephews/cousins/neighbors/brothers/coworkers
-being asked to prove my intelligence on a subject by slightly younger men
-being ostracized and bullied by other women, being told that I should smile more in general
-having to tell the 34 year old man in our college helpdesk department to stop staring at and hitting on 18-20 year old female student workers because he can’t talk to women and then our female director getting mad at me for starting “drama”.
Introspection, I guess? I don’t mean that introspection is a womanly thing to do, I just mean that when I think on the concept of gender I know that I am a woman.
I feel like a woman when I do my hair all cute, or when I put together an outfit that makes my husband go all heart-eyes-awoogah-wolf. I also feel like a woman when I do something really hard that takes a lot of physical and emotional strength. Just by virtue of the fact that I know I am a woman.
High heels. When I wear it, I feel like a women not just a girl. I am 21 so i still feel like a teenager sometime. High heels really have that « grown up » effect on me
I don’t know what being a woman feels like because I don’t know any different. What I do know is that I have to extra careful on certain situations or places but that doesn’t make me feel different. It’s just normal for me
