People not being level headed and acting like assholes to random strangers they encounter, just because they have a shitty day – or saw to much negative sickening news.
Like most of the developed world, plenty of depressed and overweight people. Outlier would be alcohol addiction; it’s definitely not as bad as in Eastern Europe but it’s still worse than in most of the world and stuff like day drinking is way too normalized.
Physical: bowel/colon cancer is the number1 cancer and the numbers are raising
Source: i had bowel cancer and my doctor and nurses used to talk about it and that they were worried bc the numbers are raising fast and in younger people.
About 2/3 of the people in my chemotherapy group had it.
The head nurse once told me it used to be an “,old persons” but the youngest person She treated was an 8y/o kid.
The mental health problem in France is Islam! Without any debate. This religion rots everything it touches.
For physical problems we do not have a predominant case in France.
I have the feeling a lot of young people (like 14-25) in my country are lonely. Just the way they behave when on the street, headphones on and shy to make any kind of contact. We also have a lot of people in our cities that don’t speak our language, and many don’t even speak English well, making this problem much worse. I often read Reddit posts of young people in my country that have a hard time making friends, asking how to meet new people.
It results in public space becoming more and more a space that you just have to move through to get where you want to be, instead of it being used to enjoy each other’s company and meet new people or make small talk. I have the feeling that many young people just don’t know how to hang out with strangers. I bet it leads to a lot of depression.
According to the Danish Trade Union Association, stress caused by job is a huge problem now. And I believe it! The workplace has become brutal since 2008!
Radicalisation of both our young and old, through online propaganda, turning people to anger. I think social media qualifies as a mental health problem. Its so easy to turn bitter with so much information at our fingertips, problems grow exponentially online compared to what the world is like if you actualky step into it. Things aren’t nearly as bad here in Sweden as people are led to believe online, we are a great country with a bright future, so is most other places in my experience.
Poverty causes a lot of problems. People develop multiple illnesses due to poverty and unavailability of proper healthcare(see endless waiting lists and bad corruption in healthcare, overpriced meds and healthcare prices) and I’d say a lot of people die not because of some physical condition but because of dumb things that shouldn’t ever happen in this day and age like: being priced out of treatment/care/cure, not being able to see a doctor on time(or at all) due to a broken healthcare system. That’s a huge, worsening problem in many places of the world sadly. Lack of freedoms, poverty, burnout, general dissatisfaction with all of these things also leads to a number of mental issues, and mental issues eventually lead to physical issues and a lot of people still don’t understand that mental health is very important and one will eventually get sick if living in an environment where they are unhappy and such. I wish something would be done about this.

Physical would probably be obesity. Mental? Probably higher numbers of mentally struggling kids and teens.

We’re one of the fattest countries in Europe and people are becoming far less physically active

Alcohol is a massive problem here , according to Top 15 Countries With The Highest Alcohol Consumption In 2024 , we’re the drunkest country in the world. Even if this is wrong we’re still at least top 10
Mental: probably depression (Portugal is one of the countries in Europe that consumes more antidepressants).
Physically: I believe a lot of people have hypertension

Sweden is certainly not alone in this struggle.
