Real ABBA concerts. Yeah, we have their holograms now, but imagine seeing them live in their prime, platform boots and all. My mom saw them in ’75 and still won’t shut up about it.
The music scene when bands actually had to be talented to make it. I remember watching performers who could play multiple instruments and harmonize without any electronic help. Don’t get me wrong, I like some modern stuff, but there was something raw and authentic about 70s musicians.
In the 90s I was in my late teens to late 20s. I thought the 70s were the best. The music, the cars, the drugs. But now in the 2020s I reflect and realize I was living in the best decade the 90s.
Then again I have way better memories of the 90s than the 70s since I was born mid decade. I lived a lot of life in the 90s.
Still think the 70s were awesome tho. Can’t beat those cars.
The ERA, the fighters for human rights, including Women’s Rights. More ambient money in the economy. Punk rock and New Wave music. But I’d have to take Cocaine, casual racism and all the isms. The fashion was so bad.
A lot of things but in light of current events, the Nixon era Republican Party that wholly embraced the Watergate hearings that ended with his resignation. Should resignation and a pardon have been the course taken? I’ll leave that for presidential historians to write lengthy papers on.
Affordable housing prices. My aunt bought her first house in 1975 for $23,000 while working as a secretary. Now I’m making triple what she made back then and can barely afford to rent a studio apartment.

We can’t be prohibiting them if they aren’t around, so we need some discotheques lol.
