I’ve seen this weird word pop up only here on Reddit over the past couple of days, and I find it weirdly annoying. What does it mean?

It’s when a stupid parent names their kid something like “Ashllyeigh” to be unique, instead of “Ashley” and there’s a whole subreddit dedicated to it
You see it a lot because I believe it’s the word to describe those weird and needlessly dumb spelled names. Like spelling “Kennedy” as “Khynneddi”
It means one of those names like “Ryleigh” and “Raelynn” and so on — American names with those alternative, vaguely Celtic-looking spellings
Kimberleigh is a good example.
some stupid name a parents thinks is unique and quirky but its only gonna cause issues when the baby grows up . one of the most unfortunate ones i seen on here so far was a man whos parents named him NINJA EGG SALAD like wtf poor guy
Ironically I’ve met a Kay-Lee
My uncle had a student with name spelled “La-a”
Pronounced…. Ladasha 🤦♂️
Those awful misspelt names people give their kids; the ones that look like they made them up by smashing their face into a keyboard.
“Tragedy”. It’s making fun of when people take a basic name like Ashley and make it Ashleigh (as the simplest example). It became a thing that when you saw a really bad name you called it a tragedeigh rather than a tragedy.
The sub is dedicated to bad names and there are some BAD names out there.

It can also be horribly clear fandom names, especially if the parent finds the character sexy. Ie, I’m a Supernatural fan and have seen people name their kids Castiel Dean, sibsets of Dean and Samuel/ Castiel ect, and the people always have posts about wanting to mess about with the characters or fanart they made of the main ships fucking.

It’s a unique misspelling of a name to be different, or combining more traditional names into one unique name, or using words for a name not traditionally used for names. It’s tragic because the kid will likely be made fun of and/or have their name mispronounced often.
I recommend visiting the according subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/tragedeigh/
I’ll tell you what’s a tragedeigh. Their education.
That’s from tragedy, because the trend naming baby now using ~eigh, so that’s how the word comes up. Mostly to describe weird/unique wannabe parents give to their kids.
Its when people cant stay in their own lane about what someone names their kid.
Though i find it weird, when black people butcher and change names, it’s ethnic and fine, but when a white person does it its a tragedeigh….
The Gheindynnebuerghe
It’s when someone tries to get creative in naming a child and gives them a spelling that most people will pronounce wrong.
Fred- a name
Phread- a tragedeigh
When the feelings gone and you can’t go on
r/Tragedeigh has a good breakdown in their side bar.
that’s stupid …it “looks like” someone trying to spell a name by how it sounds
