Even the slight onset of a migraine headache wipes out the day. Fast acting meds block the pain, but the headache is ongoing in the background. Can’t concentrate, eyes sensitive to light, appetite gone till the next day
Over sleeping. Even if by just twenty minutes, suddenly a calm coffee and a shower, then reading the news instead becomes a mad rush around with inevitable mishaps. Coffee gets spilt on clean shirt, items misplaced, and a general stress sets the tone for the day.
I’m a teacher and we have a staff meeting every morning. Sometimes random staff members put their hand up to say something and they talk for wayyyyy too long about something no one else gives a shit about. Then I’m late to teach my first class because of it. It just sets me up for a bad day because I arrive all flustered from being late and pissed off because my colleagues have zero self awareness or consideration for other people’s time.
One incorrect text tone from someone I value might totally disrupt me. It’s crazy how just a few words- or lack of them-could set off my mood. Suddenly I am overthinking, replaying everything, and the whole day seems out of wholeness.
Waking up thinking you have a few more hours left to sleep, only to check the time and see your alarm is about to go off in a few minutes. Always pisses me off.
When someone is ready to slam their car into mine because they decided to merge into my lane at the last possible second without signaling, without remorse. F those people.
Having a tiny splinter stuck in the sole of your foot that you can’t get out without gouging a giant hole in your foot, and hurts in a way that feels like it’s piercing your soul every time you put weight on that area of your foot.
