For scenario 1: say you’re in the woods and out of nowhere a bear attacks you and mauls you and begins eating you alive.
For scenario 2: Suppose you just got lit on fire out of nowhere with no way to relieve yourself, so you’re just there in excruciating pain as you’re burnt alive.

With fires usually you go unconscious and suffocate before you burn. The real unlucky ones are the folks trapped in cars.
Bears eat you slow and rip chunks out of whatever they’re eating. Ever see em eat a salmon? Swap that fish out for your back or potentially your face. No fun 👎
Eaten way worse unless you’re into vore..
How morbid!
Why did I laugh
Eaten definitely because a bear or whatever is big enough to eat you will have to take a few seconds in between bites to chew and swallow giving you a moment to feel the agony only for the process to keep on repeating until you either bleed out or go into shock.
Burning while still painful would be the best option between the two because you’ll only feel pain for a few minutes until your nerve endings die then it’s just a matter of time before you either die of shock or succumb to your injuries.
Eaten alive i think. You could be conscious even if your leg is torn off. That sounds awful tbh. At least with burning, the smoke eventually makes you pass out. Neither are lovely options but i’d say being eaten alive can result in way more pain
Burnt alive would be worse.
In my line of work, I’ve seen tons of bear attack victims after the fact, usually.
You’d be surprised how much those guys go for the face and heart
Both would suck so bad that I guarantee you wouldn’t be thinking “man I wish I was burning to death/being eaten alive instead”.
I don’t think one is worse than the other. They are both so bad that it wouldn’t matter. Think about any cut or scrape you have gotten. Bite your arm hard, now imagine you ripped a chunk of flesh away, and then further imagine that you can’t just let go and alleviate the pain, it’s happening. It’s very bad. Hold a lighter to your skin for as long as you can, touch a hot stove, now imagine that’s encompassing your entire body and you cant pull your body out.
May sound weird but my dog bit me recently and nearly took off the tip of my finger. I might be more inclined to say burnt alive because that’s pain all at once and it’s suffocating to breathe and you could theoretically stay awake for longer than you think.
Being bitten didn’t hurt in the moment because of shock and I am sure blood loss would cause you to pass out fast.
Eaten alive would be horrible. Slow bone crushing pain and bleeding out. Fire would be horrible too, but not as worse. Fire would be less scary I guess lol
