What would the legalities of killing endangered elephants be if Botswana released 20.000 elephants into a well populated German city?

What if Botswana released 20.000 elephants in Berlin or Köln, but all of those elephants were african forest elephants? Since they are critically endangered, how would authorities approach the situation? If the elephants were killed would there be any fines or would it be a ground for legal action against the authorities in charge of killing those endangered elephants? Or would it be “allowed” due to the situation? How would this affect the african forest elephant population? Would it be a possibility that some “escape” into the wilderness and survive and Germany becomes a home for this species of elephant?

The people that released the Elephants into the city would be the ones who put those Elephants in danger. Plain and Simple.

African elephants are only endangered because of humans taking over their land. And then the poachers who are coming in and taking them.
If an NGO would buy up a lot of land and kick people off the elephant population would pop back pretty quickly.

If an elephants are released where they don’t belong …
There are different elephants, but if released in Ohio, I think they could survive with some help. Cold and snow would be tough. Type of trees and…
I think they would need to be semi-domesticated to survive.

There was and old guy who had lions and Tigers and … He went crazy and released them. Some were recaptured and re-homed. Some were shot.
    So same for elephants.

If there were 20,000 of them they wouldn’t be endangered. Which begs the question how many could you kill before they are endangered again and how much could you get for their tusks on the Chinese black market
