Ok based on OP’s replies, they’re not thinking of a warrant. They’re thinking of a desk appearance ticket.
A desk appearance ticket is basically just what OP was wondering about. You do something wrong but it isn’t so serious that you need to be arrested on the spot, but it’s basically an order to appear in front of the judge. You get it and sign it. If you don’t sign it, you’ll be arrested.
It’s actually no different than a speeding ticket. You sign a speeding ticket not for fault, but to acknowledge you’re required to appear in court or just plead guilty and pay the fine or whatever program they have.

You mean a bench warrant?
Its a warrant issued directly by the judge, often after missing a court date.
A standard arrest warrant starts from law enforcement asking the judge to issue a warrant.
