Liver and onions, my mom made it for me when I was a teenager and I’ve loved it since. Pan fried. No one else in my family likes it and I have yet to meet anyone else who does.
Not really that hated in my country, but banana on pizza together with chicken/ham, curry powder and peanuts seem to scare away quite a few people outside of Sweden.
Pickled chicken hearts! Sounds horrifying and gross, I know. But if you’re a fan of anything pickled, you’ll probably like them! The texture wasn’t out of the ordinary, and the flavor is not far off from just regular old dark meat. Slightly chewy too. I love them 🙂
Corned beef. It’s disgusting and bad for you but I love it. Also, haggis. Herby and harmless. It feels more like you’re saying some kind of grain than sheep intestines
Lots of them; Black Licorice, Candy Corn, Sardines, Mushrooms, raw veggies of all kinds, etc. The list of what I won’t eat would be far shorter than what I would, if nothing else cause almost everything is worth trying.
I mean, I grew up eating a lot of fish because my culture is big on seafood. But I certainly get some looks because I eat stuff like octopus without blinking an eye.
As a Mexican, we use every part of the cow and throw it in a guiso or a taco … tongue, brain, intestine. It’s all delicious. I find that if it isn’t the texture, most people can’t get past the idea of what they’re eating.
I guess this is more of a drink than food, but red wine? I’m 30, so I’m on the Millennial cusp to Gen Z, and people my age, on average don’t drink as often as previous ones, anyway. And when they do, it usually isn’t wine.
Personally? I love the stuff. I love having lots of pretty crystal glassware, and different ones for the different types of wines. The ritual of popping the cork, and taking that initial sniff of the freshly poured first glass. The twirling, and the grip of the glass. All of that shit.
