What’s a “little kid habit” you never grew out of?

r/

You know those things you did as a kid that were totally normal back then—but now, as an adult, you’re still doing them? Maybe you still jump onto your bed to avoid the “monsters” underneath, or you refuse to eat the last bite of a sandwich for no real reason. What’s that one childhood habit you never managed to shake?

I don’t run up the stairs on all fours, but if no one is around I lean forward and run up like a T-Rex.

I eat things in order of my least favourite, leaving my favourite bit until last.

I also still get childishly excited about puddings, cakes, and sweets.

In second grade I had a nightmare that still guides my actions over 30 years later.

In the dream I was walking past the bathroom to go watch Transformers. I reached into the bathroom doorway to turn on the light and a green, clawed hand reached out and grabbed my hand.

I still get nervous reaching in a room to turn on a light. I try to be fully in the room first. This makes some things difficult because I also don’t like mirrors in the dark, and avoid looking at them.

My mom didn’t let me pick my nose when I was a kid. I would put TP and stick it in my nostrils and twirl around till it grabs those delicious morsels out of my nose. I still don’t pick my nose as an adult. I twirl and toss the TP still.

Cookies and milk in the afternoon. It helps me get past the after lunch slump.
