Ok, so a few (5?) years ago I made the switch to go from the “dad/Constanza” back pocket wallet to a front pocket type wallet.
It was nice but just a random inexpensive Amazon one. I decided about a month ago to upgrade it to something nicer. Aiming for hand made in the US, something unique.
Well, today it came in. It is a responsibly sourced hippopotamus leather wallet. I found a company that makes wallets out of exotic leathers.

I thought you meant one of those metal ridge wallets. I didn’t even know Hippo leather existed lol
Right after I decided to stop smoking weed I purchased a custom made silver joint holder. Don’t know when it will get used as such but it’s still a beautiful piece of art/jewelry.
Retro gaming handheld. Size of gameboy. Plays every game from every console up through like ps1 and some Dreamcast stuff. Mostly playing SNES games from my youth and sequels that came out after my gaming days.
A little device that is designed to stir/shake up nail polish. I use it for my miniature paints as well as vials used for testing aquarium water.
Very inexpensive but one of those “wow did I really just get this?” moments when I unboxed it and used it.
I literally bought a grill (as in, jewelry for your teeth) last week and am waiting for it to come in lol.
After a 34-year hiatus, I bought my first bicycle at the end of 2022. Then at the end of last summer I built my first custom bicycle
An Eisenhower dollar coin. It’s not worth much more than the nominal dollar value, and here in Sweden we don’t even use dollars, but it’s excellent for flipping.
Jolly Roger flag, I’m going to hang outside my shack when I get done building it out.
I’m hoping to finish the framing this weekend.
A hand moulded and beautifully framed model of various parasitic worms in the digestive tract. Found it in Japan. It was an old health educational piece from many decades ago.
Needless to say, it’s a good conversation starter when people come over.
Inexpensive magnetic stirrer to mix dry darkroom chemicals into solution.
Yes stirring by hand is possible (in fact, easy) but this is just a cheap little luxury.
I bought a fully automatic OTF knife – a switchblade or stiletto or whatever you want to call it. For a pocket knife it was (in my opinion) very expensive and I’m almost certainly not allowed to own it, let alone carry it around.
But I love it so much.
Sitting here buying myself a drivers license for my birthday.
I figured Thursday at 2 pm would be the perfect time. Apparently every one else did too.
Danish Krag bayonet.
Bought myself a very short apron for a slutty costume.
Running vest, I look like a dork wearing it, especially with my piss poor running pace. But it’s so much better than having stuff in my pockets. I tried the shitty running belts and the arm strap, it was uncomfortable and shit. Backpacks suck too because back gets sweaty, also backpacks bounce when you put heavy stuff like a water bladder inside.
The running vest is very comfortable, allows me to carry a couple of soft water bottles for longer runs. It’s mesh so less sweaty than a backpack, it does not bounce around, and I can distribute my stuff across the 14 pockets such that there’s good balance and no pressure points. Also the pockets are very easily accessible during running so when I want a drink, or a tissue, or vaseline for my lips, etc. I can reach and get it out without having to stop or look.
I’m struggling to figure this out.
A few months ago I bought a dinosaur plushie while at a reptile expo.
Idk a uss enterprize plate for my vw arteon. It does feel like a spaceship so I like it
I was finally able to get a water pipe from one of my favorite glass artists ever. Their pieces are pricey, but also wonderfully crafted. A Sovereignty, specifically.
I uhhhh, pre ordered 200+ dollar 3rd party transformer. But fuck man it looks so good! I can’t wait for it to finally come in the mail! I have no regrets.
Bought myself a small welder. Taught myself to weld so I could make a speaker mount for my golf cart.
I bought a new generator on a whim because the model I wanted popped up open box for $800 off the price of a new one
Bought an ungraded 1883 Carson city Morgan silver dollar a few days ago. Have a lot of Morgans but not many CCs, starting to remedy that.
A fountain pen. My New Years Resolution was to write a journal entry every day. A fountain pen makes it more enjoyable.
Flashy wheels for my car.
18*8.5 all around, with proper tires.
Do I need this? Of course not the stock wheels were fine, just very old fashioned and looked funny proportionally on the car (16*7, but tucked way in under the car I assume to have clearance for the 4WS to do it work.)
A box of Lucky Charms. Sometimes, a little junk food is required.
Shiny gold bootyshorts
A foam replica Atlantean sword from Conan the Barbarian. Next time my toddler wants to “sword fight” she’s in for a surprise.
Haptic coin to fidget with, and a rovyvon a28 torch.
Torch isn’t odd, but didn’t need it and ordered them at the same time.
I don’t know how odd it is but I recently had some lovely bespoke fountain pen ink made to get my perfect colour/sheen/pooling.
LEGO!!!!
I bought a Pyranhafirecracker 252. Whitewater kayaking is a very niche sport.
