What’s a rule you secretly wish everyone followed, but isn’t actually a rule?

Comments
Stay to the right so people can pass on the left.
Also, if everyone is zippering and you don’t I will assume you are a psychopath.
Don’t comment on others’ weights/sizes, or other things about them that they can’t readily change
Not Fat Shaming
If you’re going to be making any kind of noise with your devices in public, wear your damn headphones.
If you wear sandals/flip flops and so on… do not shuffle your feet. Omg.
No smoking
That everyone work a service industry job …. Some people have never and it shows in the way they treat and speak to those who work these jobs.
Don’t gawk at visibly disabled people, it’s just rude
Don’t comment on someone’s appearance if they can’t change it in 5 minutes or less
Take your shoes off when you enter someone’s house
The 11th Commandment “Thou shalt not be an a-hole”. If everyone could choose to be kind and honest, oh what a wonderful world it’d be.
Do things with grace and stop complaining about every single thing in life.

Covering your mouth when you cough
Far too many people have no manners or hygiene
absolutely being generous with please and thank you to servers / service workers / anybody random you interact with. any time i am around somebody who doesn’t do it I’m horrified
Everyone sits down to pee!
don’t talk to me
Don’t talk on speakerphone in public, it’s extremely annoying
Don’t smoke/vape around me, especially when I’m on holiday relaxing on a sun lounger.
Keep it moving when getting off an escalator
Put the grocery cart away!
Be kind.
At an stoplight, don’t block the right-turn-on-red lane if you’re going straight (if you can help it. It’s one thing to be caught at the red light when you’re in that lane; it’s another if you pull up there intending to go straight and block everyone else).
Load the dishwasher with all forks together, spoons together, etc…. So much easier to unload.
Leave no trace, and not just in nature, in the bathroom and kitchen, too! Clean up after yourselves, people.
Chew with your mouth closed, always. No smacking!
Be kind.
Turning signals
Have respect for yourself and others.
If you are able to push a shopping cart around a shop then you are able to return it after use.
Use your damn cruise control.
I think every single person should have to do a stint as a server/bartender for a while and also have to work a Christmas season in retail
Kindness and consideration of others
Don’t be so quick to judge (aloud). You never know what someone’s gone through or why they are the way they are.
Note: this does not excuse things like bullying or abuse. I think you shouldn’t assume these people are evil, but you shouldn’t be expected to tolerate mistreatment either.
Don’t engage in loud hobbies that annoy people trying to enjoy their home on a weekend . Eg. Dirt bikes, mowing at 6am, car tuning, letting kids scream.
Inside voices shouldn’t just apply to children
Very rarely is anything an emergency. Wait 24 hours for someone to respond to any kind of communication before you lose your patience and think they aren’t making time for you. Life is too busy to be answering every ping immediately.
Don’t spit on the floor.
It’s technically illegal but never, ever enforced. It’s so gross. Spit in a tissue if you need to, if you don’t have a tissue then be a fucking grownup and find one.

Don’t smoke or vape at bus stops!!! We’re all stuck standing there and it sucks moving to the back of the queue to move away from the situation these people are choosing to make more unpleasant for everyone else.
Clean up after yourself. Leave it how you found it or better.
Do not comment on other people’s bodies.
Replace the toilet paper/paper towel roll if you are the one to use the last of it. C’mon people, we live in a society!!!

If you’re rude for no reason, you should pay a fine. The world would be richer and calmer.
When selling used stuff, give a heavy discount of the CURRENT new price.
Don’t sell an old TV for 500 because you paid 750 when the newer better model costs 550 brand new.
If people actually gave great deals for used items, it would make it a viable option more often which would be great for the environment if it decreased the demand for brand new stuff, and make it possible for those with lower incomes to get some proper quality items with many years left.
Zipper merging.
