God Only Knows by The Beach Boys and Maggot Brain by Funkadelic are two of the greatest rock songs ever recorded and i’d like them both played at my funeral.
Love to hate you – erasure , poor unfortunate souls – pat carrol. I’d also add headfirst slide into cooperstown on a bad bet by FOB since it shaped my brain but the last heartbreak kind of did tire me out a little
Kidding. Vienna by Billy Joel I think is my all time favorite song that I’ll never get bored of.
Goodbye yellow brick road by Elton John and Zombie by the Cranberries are also my favs.
Literally anything FKJ has ever produced, Be Your Girl (kaytranada mix), You’re Sunshine by WEISS, Stole the Show by Kygo, Latch by Sam Smith & Disclosure, Praise Him in Advance by Marvin Sapp!!!!!!!!!
How Soon Is Now? by Love Spit Love. I originally heard the song from the show Charmed but after listening to the full version I considered it to be my life theme song since I can relate to the entire song. Yes I’m aware this is a cover of The Smiths song of the same name I just prefer this version.
Sound of Silence rendition by Disturbed. Careless Whisper by either George Michael or Seether. Hearts rendition of Stairway to Heaven. I’m happy with all of them…can fall asleep happily!
Gimme Shelter-Stones
The opening seems so sloppy, but each layer that gets added is right on spot. The music is complex and simple at the same time, but the real hook is Merry Clayton singing back up and absolutely out performing Jagger. I don’t know if it was intentional but in the last half of the song they are singing like a duet instead of lead and backup. Almost like he backed off because she was rocking it so hard. Love that song.
